I was just this morning asking Purusottama to inform you of increasing the publication of Issue #26 because the article, Beyond the Universe,” is very interesting. In the present atmosphere of space exploration this kind of article will be much appreciated, and people will know that we are not sentimentalists. Our background is solid, scientific and authorized.
Actually, the modern astronauts are trying to reach the moon planet, and even if they reach there they cannot live there; and even if ...Read More

You write that things are in a crises in England, with oil shortages and IRA bombing. Therefore, we have to take shelter of Krsna. If Krsna wants to kill us, that is not wrong, if it is His desire. Our business should just be to follow the regulative schedule, deity worship, distributing prasadam, chanting, book distribution and never mind the material danger. Krsna Consciousness means to be on the platform of

A Devotee Remains Fixed in any Adverse Condition of Life

The mountains, although being struck by torrents of rain during the rainy season, are not shaken, just as those whose hearts are dedicated to the transcendental Personality of Godhead are never disturbed, even when harassed by great misfortune.
Because a person who is spiritually advanced accepts any adverse condition of life as the mercy of the Lord, he is completely eligible to enter into the spiritual kingdom. Even though a person takes to the devotional service of the Supreme Lord, he ...Read More

We have to mold our life in such a way that twenty-four hours, not a single moment leaving aside, we should be engaged in the service of the Lord’s relations. The Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita, the spiritual master, Tulasi-devi, the temple, the preaching, the books—these are all Bhagavata. Just like we are doing daily, trying to read one verse of Srimad-Bhagavatam, discussing amongst ourselves. By this process the dirty things within the heart become cleansed.
Inauspicious things mean the heart disease for ...Read More

As Vyasadeva has compiled all the pastimes of Lord Krsna in Srimad-Bagavatam, Thakura Vrndavana dasa has depicted the pastimes of Lord Caitanya. Thakura Vrndavana dasa has composed Caitanya-mangala. Hearing this book annihilates all misfortune.
By reading Caitanya-mangala one can understand all the glories and truths of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda and come to the ultimate conclusion of devotional service to Lord Krsna. In Caitanya-mangala [later known as Sri Caitanya-bhagavata] Srila Vrndavana dasa Thakura has given the conclusion and essence of devotional ...Read More

Two devotees of Lord Caitanya named Sri Ramadasa and Gadadhara dasa always lived with Sri Virabhadra Gosai. When Nityananda Prabhu was ordered to go to Bengal to preach, these two devotees [Sri Ramadasa and Gadadhara dasa] were ordered to go with Him. Thus they are sometimes counted among the devotees of Lord Caitanya and sometimes among the devotees of Lord Nityananda. Ramadasa, one of the chief branches, was full of fraternal

Since the season was springtime, the breeze on the bank of the Yamuna was blowing very mildly, carrying the aroma of different flowers, especially the flower known as kaumudi. Moonlight filled the sky and spread everywhere, and thus the banks of the Yamuna appeared very bright and pleasing, and Lord Balarama enjoyed the company of the gopis there.
The demigod known as Varuna sent his daughter Varuni in the form of liquid honey oozing from the hollows of the trees. ...Read More

Sometimes we refer to the Vedanti philosophers as Vidantis, those who have no teeth (vi means without, and danti means possessing teeth). The statements of the Sankara philosophy, which are the teeth of the Mayavadi philosopher, are always broken by the strong arguments of Vaisnava philosophers such as the great acaryas, especially Ramanujacarya. Sripada Ramanujacarya and Madhvacarya break the teeth of the Mayavadi philosophers, who can therefore be called Vidantis, toothless.
Partial realization of the Absolute Truth as impersonal Brahman denies ...Read More

At His birth, in His childhood and in His early and later boyhood, as well as in His youth, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, under different pleas, induced people to chant the holy name of Hari [the Hare Krsna maha-mantra].
In His childhood, when the Lord was crying He would stop immediately upon hearing the holy names Krsna and Hari. During His pauganda age He became a serious student and also taught disciples. In this way He used to explain the holy name ...Read More

Prabhupada: If you publish it in Back to Godhead, then by portion, three or four pages. When the articles will be sorted, first Guru Maharaja Bhaktisiddhanta’s, then mine. If you write something from Bhaktivinoda Thakura, that should ...Read More

All Americans should have at least one set of books. That is not very difficult for them, to purchase one set books. But it will be a good asset for them if they keep and see sometimes. Any line he reads, he will get transcendental knowledge. Anyone who reads Krsna book, he will become Vaisnava. That’s a fact.

Narayani eternally eats the remnants of the food of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Vrndavana dasa Thakura was born of her womb.
Vrndavana dasa Thakura is Lord Nityananda’s favorite devotee, and therefore he is the original Vyasadeva in describing the pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Vyasadeva described the pastimes of Krsna in Srimad-Bhagavatam. The Vyasa of the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was Vrndavana dasa.

The twenty-third and twenty-fourth prominent devotees of Nityananda Prabhu were Sadasiva Kaviraja and his son Purusottama dasa, who was the tenth gopala. From birth, Purusottama dasa was merged in the service of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda Prabhu, and he always engaged in childish play with Lord Krsna.
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura writes in his Anubhasya, “Sadasiva Kaviraja and Nagara Purusottama, who were father and son, are described in the Caitanya-bhagavata as maha-bhagyavan, greatly fortunate. They belonged to the ...Read More
