    Hare Krishna!

I am happy to be a member of Krishna connect mailing list. Being a devotee (I do not know whether I deserve) very much interested to read your mail as Srimad Bhagavad Gita is spoken by Bhagavan himself.

In hectic life style it is not possible to read Gita regularly at home.It is a great opportunity given by Lord Krishna to read Gita regularly through your mails. As I am working, I go through e-mails the office only.

Please keep on sending these mails. Guide and encourage me in spiritual path.

    Hare Krishna Prabhuji,

    All Glories to Srila Prabhupada…PAMHO…

Thank you very much for the timely help…I am trying to do online Bhagavad Gita Course, for which this newsletter will be of immense help to make me advance in Krishna Consciousness… I am practising the chanting of the Holy Name since 10years and doing morning and evening arati, reading BG and Bhangavatam morning and evening, Nectar of devotion, Sri Caitanya Caritamrita and Krishna Book every day…but still my progress is ZERO….i am perplexed…may my chanting is not a quality chanting, my reading is not a fruitful reading…perhaps all this is because i am fully immersed in the whirlpool of material existence, my life is spinning around interacting with materialistic people around and what not!!

I hope that this Newsletter will wake up my dormant KC if there is in me and i can enjoy the transendental bliss of chanting the hare krishna mahamantra….

    Your humble servant,

    Lakshmi

I have another question-why women are suffering so much now a days all bad things happening to them in news everyday we hear of such things -rape happening to women why dont krishna save us from these illegal activities. If he doesnot save us who will to whom should we pray for our protection ?? is not its lords duty to protect us??Or is it that we did some bad karma in our previous life that we should accept it as our fruit for bad karma??

    • Hare Krishna Ananya

Yes. We get the reactions of our karma. The sinful or pious things we have done in the past cause good or bad things to happen to us now. It is not Krishna that is causing these things to happen to us. These things happen to us because of our sinful activities in this and previous lives. The way out is to become actually Krishna conscious. For then Krishna can adjust our karma. But generally speaking everyone is just suffering and enjoying the reactions of their past activities. That is the way things work. Any suffering that comes in our life we deserve because it has come as a result of some sinful action we have done in the past.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

    I want to know:

HOW “BG As It Is” is the Essence of All Upanishads and All the Vedas ?

    • Read it and see Prabhu.

These things can only be understood by realization.

It is an amazing book. You can read it an unlimited number of times and every time you read it it is fresh and new. And it contains fathomless depth of knowledge which initially one may not be able to perceive but as one surrenders more and more to Srila Prabhupada and follows his instructions the knowledge of the Gita opens up.

The ultimate purpose of the Upanishads and the Vedas is to bring one to the point of surrendering to Krishna. And the Bhagavad-gita also, is about bringing Arjuna to the point of surrendering to Krishna. But in the Bhagavad-gita this is established in only a few hundred verses whereas the Vedas and Upanishads consist of hundreds or thousands of big books. So Krishna has condensed the essence of all the knowledge of the Vedas and presented it to His devotee and friend Arjuna in not more than half an hour or an hour just before the greatest battle that this planet has ever seen…

And by hearing the Bhagavad-gita, which is the essence of the Vedas and Upanishads compressed by Krishna so he could explain it to Arjuna in half an hour, Arjuna came to the correct conclusion of he Vedas which is to surrender to Krishna and follow the instructions of Krishna even though Krishna’s instructions were contradictory to what Arjuna himself thought was the best thing to do. Arjuna did not want to fight the battle of Kuruksettra as he could understand the results of this battle would be disastrous as all his friends and family members were arrayed on the battlefield on one side or the other. So Arjuna could understand that practically everyone he cared about would be killed in the battle so even if he was victorious what would be the use of such a victory if the result was that all his friends and family members would be killed? So these were all very good arguments by Arjuna. But Krishna’s presentation of the Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna convinced him that his own ideas were irrelevant and useless and that his duty was to surrender to Krishna and follow the instructions of Krishna and fight…

So anyhow Prabhu. Read Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is yourself over and over again and all your questions will be mysteriously answered.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!
