Forensic Evidence of Reincarnation

Is there a scientific basis for reincarnation? Indian forensic scientist Vikram Raj Singh Chauhan is trying to prove reincarnation is real. He has presented his findings at the National Conference of Forensic Scientists in India.

Chauhan has discovered a six-year-old boy named Taranjijt Singh who says he remembers his previous life.

According to his parents, he’s been talking about this since he was two years old and used to run away from home.

The boy knew the village he lived in during his former life, as well as his and his father’s names. He knew the name of the school he attended as well. On September 10, 1992, he was riding his bike home when he was hit by a motor scooter. He received head injuries and died the next day.

His present father, Ranjit Singh, says as the boy became more and more insistent, so he and his wife went to the village where he claimed to have lived in the past. At first, they couldn’t find anyone who resembled the descriptions of his former parents. Then someone told him to go to another nearby village, where they met a teacher at the local school who confirmed the story of the motor scooter accident. They found out where the boy had lived and went there to meet the parents.

When they told the family their story, Ranjit Singh mentioned that his son claimed the books he was carrying when the accident occurred had gotten blood on them. He also described how much money he had in his wallet. When the woman heard this, she began to cry and said she had saved the blood-stain books and the money in memory of her dead child. Taranjit Singh’s parents and siblings from his former life soon came to his new home to meet him. The boy recognized a wedding picture his former parents brought with him.

At first, Vikram Chauhan refused to believe this story but he eventually became curious and decided to investigate. He visited both villages and found the boy and both sets of parents repeated the same story. He spoke to a shopkeeper who told him that the boy had owed him the money that was in his wallet when he was hit, and was probably bringing it to him to pay for a notebook he’d gotten on credit.

Chauhan took samples of both boys’ handwriting and compared them. He found they were identical. It’s a basic tenet of forensic science that no two handwriting styles can be identical, because each person’s handwriting has specific characteristics. Experts can usually spot even expertly forged handwriting. A person’s handwriting style is dictated by individual personality traits. Chauhan’s theory is that if the soul is transferred from one person to another, then the mind – and thus the handwriting – will remain the same. A number of other forensic experts examined the handwriting samples and agreed they were identical.

“I have some scientific basis to claim rebirth is possible”, says Chauhan, “but I wish to do more research on the subject and am closely monitoring the development of the child.” Singh’s former parents wanted him to move back with them, but his current family still claims him, even though they are poor. Chauhan says, “In his present birth, Taranjit has never gone to school as he belongs to a poor family, but yet when I told him to write the English and Punjabi alphabet, he wrote them correctly.”

Yes, This is correct and this is only correct.. I am not saying that this can happen but I am saying that only this is happening to all human, birds and animals because human, animals and birds are not only the body but they are body + soul. So that when person dies then only body dies but the memory does not die. Life is always life, during life as a living human and also after living the dead body, the life is always living being.

When human dies then the memory comes with the soul, when the soul takes new birth then the soul acts as per the last birth memories, due to this every child is different even they born in one family and by one mother and one father.

Every one can experience this, if they think on their own ideas about so many things which they did not read from any where and did not listened from anywhere, so from where these ideas comes? these ideas comes from the memories of everyone’s last birth experience.

So reincarnation is not the thing that should be proved by modern science but the modern science is required to invent the machines to study all this.

This is one of the better religions to understand.

Being wholly concerned with only yourself can be destructive.

Consider other people or the beauty of the the world.

There are many ways…….TO EXIST IN THE UNIVERSE.

I am a 60 yr. old Grandma and I have known since I was 3, that this was not the first time I’ve been here on Earth. I remember it (when I knew I had been reincarnated) vividly; as if it was yesterday. I did not even know the word “reincarnate” until I was a teenager. I never told a soul of this until I was in my 40’s because I was sure I would be labeled insane. lol Now I just want to contact Dr. Tucker at the University of Virginia and see if he could help me. Wish I knew more of my past life; more details, etc, but I have figured out a few things through the years. One thing that still makes me smile, is the fact that I was very unhappy about being here again! I have a very good sense of humour and I have to laugh at the irony of it all!

  5. Abhishek says:

Evidences of rebirth or reincarnation disprove Abrahamic religions since they advocate single life philosophy and judgement day.

    • Yes. Apparently the concept of reincarnation was there originally in the early teachings of the Bible but it has been edited out over the years for some political reasons.

This lack of knowledge on the part of the Christians, Muslims and Jews of the science of reincarnation means they have no logical philosophy to understand things. Their ideas do not make sense. They have some sentiment to follow some regulative principles and to worship the Supreme Lord which is good. But they have no logical philosophy which makes these religions not very attractive to todays ‘educated’ public.

  6. Suresh says:

The problem with many others’ experiences (except Indians), mostly they wish to dream / hallucinate such things. In India, no one wants to talk to the dead ones. No one wants to investigate such things. Indians don’t have that perception – because it is the process in their life.

Though Indians are 90% God believers, they never spend time to think about reincarnation or souls etc. They are not much religious like others. God does not have any sort of interference with science/knowledge in India. God is entirely different from the objective world.

In other countries the Religion is an organized entity. They will kill people or do any thing for religion.

So, if the reincarnation happened in 1920-1960, they are absolutely genuine. Indians were not progressed to cheat others at that time. They were genuine. Cheating or telling lies is a big issue at that time.

this is very interesting article. but when a soul leaves human form of body then the soul must take another form. how can a soul again get human form of body?

  11. Jobin says:

There are a n finite number of bits(information stored in brain cells) in your brain-lets say 1 trillion 1 trillion. The possible combination patters are then 1 trillion 1 trillioan factorial. if there was a supercomputer that could do the math,it could create a identity of any of us in 1 Hz. If this computer could repeat this patter every Hz, it could create a copy of our minds. I said this to just prove my point-
We just need to figure out how the bits in the brain of the reincarnated boy match somebody from a lifetime earlier- to understand that we need to figure out how our brains work better-maybe our brain creates a magnetic field unknown which can influence other brains-telepathy…or somehow the dead boys memorys got impremented on somebody else-case closed.

    • Hare Krishna Jobin

The problem is ‘you’ are not in your mind. You are the spirit soul within your body usually seated in your heart. So you can copy the digits from the brain all you want but you will never copy yourself in this way… They brain is simply a machine, you, the soul, operate this machine. So without the operator the brain, the machine is useless….

  12. Nadia Radzyminski says:

I have had experiences that might be considered something like “deja vu”.

I have no specific religion, but I do have certain spiritual rules or beliefs.

I have had dreams of people I have never met that seem so real that it is as if the dreams were real.

I do sort of understand the concept of reincarnation, and I think some people have different sorts of souls.

    • Hare Krishna Nadia

Dreams are in one sense as real as our day time activities. Basically in the material world we have day dreams and night dreams. And neither our day dreams or our night dreams are the actual reality. The actual reality is beyond this material world and beyond anything we can perceive by our senses, either gross of subtle.

In the dreaming state your subtle body [mind, intelligence and ego and your spirit soul] can actually leave your material body and experience things in other places.

But these dreams, day dreams or night dreams, are not important and we have to transcend them and wake up and reestablish our eternal original consciousness which is that we are all eternally servants of Krishna and then we should engage ourselves in the service of Krishna. That is our real awakened state and it can be achieved by chanting the Hare Krishna maha mantra:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

  13. Susan Barton says:

Hello to all and to Mr. Chauhan,
I am not replying to any specific post but was motivated to write. I am curious as to who needs evidence and why… I am a 55 yr. old white lady from Texas and I have known (absolutely) since I was 3-4 yrs. old that I was reincarnated. I was at my family’s home when this phenomenon happened to me (and to me only.) My mother, father, siblings were all in another room and I still vividly remember every detail. I had no idea what it meant at the time; mind you, I was so young I couldn’t even read. But I do remember NOT being afraid or scared. Suffice it to say, I have spent a great deal of my adult life reading, researching, etc. trying to find out why I am here.
I went online to one of the Buddhist sites & sort of came to the conclusion that I must have done something terrible in a previous life so was sent back to atone for my sins ?! Ahhhh, who knows? I surely do not but would like some kind of answers. I have no idea where or who to turn to anymore. I do not have the memories like the small boy in the story.
    Thank you for listening…
    Regards,
    Susan

  15. Kumar says:

The entire Hindu philosophy is based on Re-incarnation and Karma.

Body Mind Spirit and Soul! Soul has all the memory of all Births.
Soul Mind (Subconscious mind) has the power to connect to all other soul minds. Even now all the Subconscious minds are connected!!
As Science does not have any instrument to trace or track the waveforms of communication, thereby results in the denial of what cannot be subject to empirical evaluation.

The divine design is such that a Soul enters the Human body to go through the past Karma and given the resources to grow in that Life time, but there is the component of free will which allows the Soul to change few things if not all.
When re-born, a Soul is bereft of all past memory, however some memory of the immediate past life creeps in some cases when the demise and re-birth is very close. It should be noted that some talents are made available as they may be necessary to go through that particular life time. This is seen in born geniuses good at certain subjects or arts or abilities like music, mathematics and so on.

It is said that re-birth is usually about 300 years later along with other souls, which can be called a soul group, as they enter as per design to take up certain group effort as such.
If regression can be performed accurately, all of the memories of the past lives can be discovered save for that which is erased by the divine is some cases.

All Souls are from the Divine who is the Creator.
Only way to go through our lives notwithstanding what we are now is to help each other and be good to each other. So that the result is that we shall finish our Karmas effectively and join the Divine Creator.

  16. Jhansi says:

If Chauhan is able to remember his previous birth then can he tell what has happed to him after his death and before he is born as Chauhan. What exactly happens after death. How he enters the womb of mother (the process of birth) etc?

    I appreciate your immediate response.

  18. Anirudh Kumar Satsangi says:

In Bhagavad-Gita Lord SriKrishna says to Arjuna:
“I taught this immortal Yoga to Vivasvan (sun-god), Vivasvan conveyed it to Manu(his son), and Manu imparted it to (his son) Iksvaku. Thus transmitted to succession from father to son, Arjuna, this Yoga remained known to the Rajarisis (royal sages). It has however long since disappeared from this earth. The same ancient Yoga has this day been imparted to you by Me, because you are My devotee and friend, and also because this is a supreme secret”.
At this Arjuna said: You are of recent origin while the birth of Vivasvan dates back to remote antiquity. How, then, I am to believe that you taught this Yoga at the beginning of creation? Lord SriKrishna said: Arjuna, you and I have passed through many births. I remember them all, you do not remember.
    1. Radha Soami Faith was founded by His Holiness Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Soamiji Maharaj on the prayer of His Holiness Huzur Maharaj who later on became second Spiritual Head of Radha Soami Faith. The prime object of the Radha Soami Faith is the emancipation of all Jeevas (Souls) i.e. to take the entire force of consciousness to its original abode. There is a tradition of succession of Gurus or Spiritual Adepts in Radha Soami Faith. I am one of them as is evident from the following facts or ….
“My most Revered Guru of my previous life His Holiness Maharaj Sahab, 3rd Spiritual Head of Radhasoami Faith had revealed this secret to me during trance like state.
HE told me, “Tum Sarkar Sahab Ho” (You are Sarkar Sahab). Sarkar Sahab was one of the most beloved disciple of His Holiness Maharj Sahab. Sarkar Sahab later on became Fourth Spiritual Head of Radhasoami Faith.
Since I don’t have any direct realization of it so I can not claim the extent of its correctness. But it seems to be correct. During my previous birth I wanted to sing the song of ‘Infinite’ (Agam Geet yeh gawan chahoon tumhri mauj nihara, mauj hoi to satguru soami karoon supanth vichara) but I could not do so then since I had to leave the mortal frame at a very early age. But through the unbounded Grace and Mercy of my most Revered Guru that desire of my past birth is being fulfilled now.”

  19. Hey Tinu, I just got an email notification which displayed your message. I believe there are a lot of things wrong with your arguments. I will tackle them one by one with logic, historical evidence and scientific findings which strongly suggest reincarnation.

First of all let me mention that there are many instances in the bible where reincarnation is hinted at and there is even more in the Gospel of the Holy Twelth, Gospel of thomas and many other gospels which were removed by Emperor Constantine in the city of Constantinople (441 ad). This youtube user has many videos which prove this fact and many historians have declared the same. copy and paste the link below and you can find out the truth regarding what jesus said, otherwise you can believe it is all the devil’s work and that he put these false teachings out there. That’s the usual answer I get when people can’t explain something.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/TheyBastardisedJesus#p/u/10/FJD8Ev9lOcE
(btw bastardised is not an offensive word, it means to change and make less in value, it’s not the same as the swear word).

Now let’s look at your arguments.

    1. you mentioned that “Due to high population of indians in india, it is possible to give birth to a child with a weak volunerable mind”.

my response: This statement of yours and the arguments that follow are very poor because the high population does not matter at all. There are 1000’s of cases of reincarnation all over the world it is not just isolated in India. I suggest you read a little from these books:

    2. Next you mentioned that “Reincarnation represents a weakness in the almighty God. For a child heaven is better than this planet full of misery and death”.

My response: what does this even mean? We were all children at one point. How is this even an objection to reincarnation? All you stated was that heaven is better for children becos the earth is full of pain and misery. Nice observation, but that in no way is an objection of any kind. I believe that your conception of God is weak becos your concept of God allows some children to be born with disabilities and some not, some to live a life of hunger and some to live in luxury. The children with disabilities didn’t do anything bad in the past becos they didn’t even exist until they were born according to your version, but yet they are born with disbalities. Reincarnation can easily explain this problem.

    3. You then said that if “Re-incarnation if present it would further prove that God cannot create. It means that everything was always there and God can’t create anything or souls new. This puts a limitation on Gods Almighty infinite power.”

my response: Well this is also riddled with problems. Why couldn’t God have created souls and then put them in the cycle of reincarnation? why does reincarnation mean that god cannot create? you need to understand what reincarnation actually is and not make up some definition of your own.

    3. Next you said “Re-incarnation also makes us go in circles never coming to know the truth. Just how many lives have we lived? Just who am I really?”

my response: Reincarnation means unlimited chances to come to know God. Not just one chance and if you mess that one chance up, you go to HELL FOREVER. So you actually get unlimited chances to get to know the truth so you can’t say the word never. Just who are you really? You are misidentifying your body as your real self, you are a soul who is eternal, you are not your body, your body will die and rot one day.

    4. And lastly this one was the silliest one, you said that “Re-incarnation makes God look very cruel. This is because to be reincarnated means destruction of the body and recreated again and again. What a cruel and demonic God that would be to make you suffer over and over and over again”.

my response: What a cruel God that sends you to hell forever to suffer for eternity, he is such a great father. Even human fathers and mothers forgive their children again and again and wouldn’t send their children to hell forever. The concept of eternal hell which is taught in the bible is truly cruel and evil. Reincarnation gives us unilimited chances and never sends us to eternal hell but rather gives us always a chance to go to heaven and be with God.

All of your arguments have been soundly defeated but I know that you will deny this fact and say that the devil possesses me. Well even the idea of the devil is stupid because how can any devil or anything like that give trouble to God? Is god really that weak? The problems of the world exist to teach us that this world is full of misery and temporary happiness, so that with this fact we can turn our faces away from the vices and happiness of this world and instead concentrate all of our love and attention to God.

Thanks for reading. If you have any questions or disagree with me for any good reason Tinu, let me know.
Hare Krishna. Jaya Nityananda! Jaya Gauranga!

  20. Tinu Patel says:

Reincarnation is definitely not possible but can be made to look as if it is.
Please keep in mind the identity of this boy is that he is a 6 year old. Due to high population of indians in india, it is possible to give birth to a child with a weak volunerable mind. This mind during early development stages is connected unfortunately to the world of demons and the world of angels. There is always a war going on between the angels and demons. Generally with true prayers directed to God alimighty the angels win and protect the child. However when demonic influence is there coupled with a weak mind, it is possible for demons to infuse the knowledge of another victim (The orginal who died) into the new birth. In so much that writing itself can be duplicated. Handwriting is really not that different when you study every handwriting of every single person on the earth. So what am I saying? In short, we are at war with untruth, and truth generally wins if the person sees all the possibilities. See if my arguments have any weight below.
    1. Reincarnation represents a weakness in the almighty God. For a child heaven is better than this planet full of misery and death.
    2. Re-incarnation if present would further prove that God cannot create. It means that everything was always there and God can’t create anything or souls new. This puts a limitation on Gods Almight infinite power.
    3. Re-incarnation also makes us go in circles never coming to know the truth. Just how many lives have we lived? Just who am I really?
    4. Re-incarnation makes God look very cruel. This is because to be reincarnated means destruction of the body and recreated again and again. What a cruel and demonic God that would be to make you suffer over and over and over again.

Jesus promises heaven after earth forever and ever. Simply acknowledge your sins and repent of them. Hate sin and love righteousness. Accept the loving free Gift of salvation offered by the Pure blood of Christ to pay for you sins once and for all. A loving God awaits you to come to heaven and live for ever!!!

    • sarva says:

      Hi Tinu,
      Hare Krishna.
Reincarnaion is not a religious belief. Reincarnation is simply a fact of life as much as gravity, old age and sunrise. It happens to Hindus, it happens to Christians and it happens to Jews, as long as we remain unfulfilled in our relationship with God. This is not cruelty. Cruelty would be a belief that paints God as so narrow and vindictive that He only gives us one chance in life, one lifetime, only one opportunity to rectify our nature and return to His spiritual kingdom. And the alternative being a life of eternal damnation for not doing it His way. That sounds “cruel” to me. So, I ask you, is the Christian concept of a cruel God that only gives you a single, solitary chance at salvation more accurate or the version we find in Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad-Gita, where Lord Krishna says, “ye yatha mam prapadyate tams tathaiva bajamy aham (Bg. 4.11) Which means, as a person surrenders themselves unto the loving service of the Lord, He rewards us accordingly. He reciprocates with each of us individually as we accept Him. As we take one step towards Him, He takes ten steps toward us. This is a very different model than the “fire and brimstone” version of eternal damnation we find in your Bible.

I would also be interested to hear your explauination of Isaiah telling that he will “come again” as John the Baptist.

  21. Dr.M.A.Najib says:

Reincarnation has perhaps an organic parallel with chemical and biological evolution and interestingly with animal metamorphosis.Butterfly eggs deposited beneath Opuntia leaves emerge as crawling larvae, for matter of days their world is the Opuntia plant where they browse the leaves and grow to attain the next stage of immotile pupae of entirely differnt morphology(structure). Then they emerge into butterflies of altogether changed morphology and adaptation for essentially an aerial mode of life of nectar feeding. The metamorphic developmnt is, indeed, progressive. In certain other cases, although it looks retrogressive, the outcome is one of ensuring the perpetuation of the species. The aquatic mosquito and frog larvae (tadpole)emerge into a new dimension of air breathing animals with superior potntialities.Possibly, therefore, life is always progressive and so shall be the afterlife as well,if at all one.Reincarnation is perhaps a plausible explanation for an optimistic mind as great sufi mystics like Rumi and Hallaj visualised it, great scientists like Newton and Leibniz belived and down to earth people like Henry Ford and Justice Krishna Ayyar acclaimed it.

  22. amrit says:

if reincarnation and karma wernt true, then we would all be born equally.no one would be rich and no one poor.it doesnt matter whether you believe in it or not.it will always work…even if you dont believe a fire will burn you, it still will if you stick your finger in it.it doesnt need your belief to work.i of course dont believe that krishna is the only supreme power but rather all religions are equal.i also believe there is nothing else but god. even our “bad” or distructive actions are different expressions of god. i think what we call”evil” are just powerful expressions of destructive energies but it all comes from god because there is no other source. correct me if you think im wrong.i like opinions

  23. Srinivas says:

Evidence of reincarnation are merely traces of the universal truth that we will continuously be reborn until we get enlightenment and merge with God. There is no need to search for evidence. It is self evident since nothing else can explain why we are born where we are and why we die the way we do.

    • mahul says:

shri niwas i m very immpresed with yr theory and thank you very much for such a beutiful words,we all are born to die and to reborn until we discover our self to merge with the eternal power, thankyou

  24. DEVBRAT says:

The nature has many knowledge and many phenomenons that are still undiscovered by humans. This is a fact that reincarnation is possible, as even by the theory of science it can be proved that all the incidence that’s taking place have already been executed before in some other frame of space and time, and that these incidence will keep on repeating forever, as the arrow of time moves only in one direction. This theory is more mathematical, and cant be expressed properly in any other language.

  25. lokesh says:

i would like to meet shree vikram singh ji chouhan personally who is investigating this case to make it sure. i believe in it completely. could you plese provid me adress and phone no. of him or email to contact.
    thanks.

  26. Manoj says:

As Humans, we have so many limitations – can’t see in dark, can’t hear from far away distance. So keeping in mind these limitations, there are lot of things in life that WE may believe but they may OR may not be necessarily correct as our information gathering process is limited. So it does not matter what we believe as whatever we believe might be wrong as well. So the source of information that we can trust on should be little bit higher than us and that source is ancient scriptures e.g. take missile technology, surface-to-surface missile compared to arrows being shot by ancient warriors.

  27. Jodi says:

This is very interesting, though I’m not sure what to believe.

  28. alakeshwar says:

This is just a story to strengthen people’s belief in reincarnation. There is only a picture of a boy and someone who is desperate to prove that this religious theory held by the Hindus is true. I am not convinced. The Hare Krishna guys believe in this theory and so have an interest in wanting to prove this theory to be true.
