Yes. It is a problem. Many Christian groups have developed a philosophy [which is
not really what is in the Bible] that is quite illogical. They talk about a
"Loving God" [which He is of course]. And they go on to say a "loving God"
wouldn't make a place like hell, that He will forgive all their sins, because He
knows they are imperfect... So they have made this philosophy to make Christianity
a very easy thing... Don't worry, just believe and you're saved.

But it doesn't match up with the "real world". There is so much suffering. So they
can't argue on this point very convincingly. Many of the challenges from the
atheists on the internet are on this point.

In reality God doesn't cause the suffering. We bring it upon ourselves by
disobeying His orders. Even the Bible says, "What you sow, so shall you reap."
That is karma. It means when we do something good then in the future something
good will happen. When we do something bad, something bad will happen in the
future. So suffering comes to us because of our sins in this life or in previous
lives...

>I've been knocking atheiests down left and right one after the other. All
>I've done is to show them that their own evolution theories show the general
>manner in which complex beings like God come into existance. Well, that's not
>quite all, but its been my main boxing glove.

But it's not valid! God is eternal. He is never created. Nor are we. WE are also
eternal. It is the body that gets old, the body that dies, not the soul. This is a
great flaw in your preaching. When we preach we can't make it up ourselves, we
have to accept an authority and preach according to that. If we speculate and make
our own ideas they will not be perfect...

> I've had to admit often
>enough that religion is not perfect..doesn't know everything ect.

Krishna consciousness is perfect. I would urge you to read some of the books. They
are available in German. We have a temple there in Berlin, you could check it out.

> but it's
>only the truth. Religion has made a lot of mistakes.

The FOLLOWERS of religion have made many mistakes. There are no faults with God.
He is perfect.

> Its up to the believers
>of today to clean and shine Gods name, and to do things right....and to show

Gods name is pure! It doesn't need cleaning and shining! It is the hears of the
"believers" that are not pure. They need the cleaning and shining! And in this age
it is recommended that one chant the names of God. That is the best way to "clean
and shine" your heart. There is one mantra, called the maha-manter, or the "great
chant for deliverance" which is particularly recommended:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare

So try chanting the name of God.. I think you will like it.

>that religion and science are not mutually exclusive.

Yes. Real religion is perfectly scientific. But it is absolute knowledge. You
can't form [western] scientific theories to prove or disprove God. But you could
accept the existence of God as an axiom for a scientific theory, that is a
different thing.

>all in all though, you're certainly correct when you say that it is
>difficult.

>Let me know now and again what forums you are battling in, and I'll
>come and back you up a little. I've been fighting this battle long
>enough to know what to say in most situations. Now and again I slip
>up and say things that are too hard for people to understand.

I'm only really doing that thread you are also posting in at the moment. A couple
of other little things, that's all. I will be doing more soon when I get better
access to the internet. Now I have to pay quite heavy access charges so I am not
reading many groups. Also my preaching is a bit different... At the moment I'd
rather just deal with the ordinary people in the newsgroup. The discussion has to
be based on the newsgroup. You can't just go in and talk about God... Nor is it
good if you bring in a whole lot of "outsiders" and start a discussion in their
newsgroup... So I just like to talk to the people there. But we'll see how it
develops. At the moment I can't relate to your idea of a God that can be
"created". It is at odds with everything, even the Christian Bible.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
