Shri Chaitanya And The Koran
The following is from the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya Lila, Vol.7. The Chapter is titled Lord Caitanya’s Visit to Sri Vrindavan. It clearly presents the Gaudiya Vaisnava conception in regards to the Koran and Islam. (Verses 159 thru 213)
While waiting, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, understanding that the others were fatigued,took them all beneath a tree and sat down.
There were many cows grazing near that tree, and the Lord was very pleased to see them.
Suddenly a cowherd boy blew on his flute, and immediatley the Lord was struck with ecstatic love.
Filled with ecstatic love, the Lord fell unconscious to the ground. He foamed about the mouth and His breathing stopped.
While the Lord was unconscious, ten cavalry soldiers belonging to the Mohammedan Pathana military order rode up and dismounted.
Seeing the Lord unconscious, the soldiers thought,”This Sanyasi must have possessed a large quantity of gold.”
“These four rogues here must have taken away that sanyasi’s riches after killing Him by making him take the poison dhutura.”
Thinking this, the Pathana soldiers arrested the four persons and decided to kill them. because of this, the two Bengalis began to tremble.
The devotee Krsnadasa, who belonged to the Rajaputa race, was very fearless. The Sanodiya brahmana was also fearless, and he spoke very bravely.
The Brahmana said,” You Pathana soldiers are all undr the protection of your King. Let us go to your commander and get his decision.”
“This Sanyasi is my Spiritual Master, and I am from Mathura. I am a brahmana and I know many people who are in the service of the Mohammedan king.”
“This sanyasi sometimes falls unconscious due to the influence of a disease. Please sit down here, and you will see that He will very soon regain consciousness and His normal condition.”
“Sit down here for a while and keep us all under arrest. When the Sanyasi regains His senses, you can question Him.Then, if you like, you can kill us all.”
The Pathana soldiers said,” You are all rogues. Two of you belong to the district of Mathura, and the other two, who are trembling, belong to Bengal.”
Rajaputa Krsnadasa said,” I have my home here, and I also have about 200 Turkish soldiers and about 100 cannons.”
“If I call loudly, they will come immediatley to kill you and plunder your horses and saddles.”
“The Bengali pilgrims are not rogues. You are rogues, for you want to kill the pilgrims and plunder them.”
Upon hearing this challenge, the Pathana soldiers became hesitant.Then suddenly Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu regained consciuosness.
Coming to His senses, the Lord very loudly began chanting the Holy Names, “HARI!HARI!”The Lord raised His arms upward and beagn to dance in ecstatic love.
When the Lord shouted very loudly in ecstatic love, it appeared to the Mohammedan soldiers that their hearts were struck by thunderbolts.
Seized by fear, all the Pathana soldiers immediatley released the four persons. Thus Sri Caitanya mahaprabhu did not see His personal associates under arrest.
At that time, Balabadra Bhattacarya went to Sri Caitanya and made Him sit down. Seeing the Mohammedan soldiers, the Lord regained His normal senses.
All the Mohammedan soldiers then came before the Lord, worshipped His lotus feet and said,”Here are four rogues.”
“These four rogues have made you take dhutura. Having made You mad, they have taken all your possesions.”
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said,” These are not rogues. They are My associates. Being a Sanyasi beggar, I do not possess anything.”
“Due to epilepsy, I sometimes fall unconscious. Out of their mercy, these four men maintain Me.”
Among the Muslims was a grave person who was wearing a black dress. People called him a saintly person.
The heart of that saintly Muslim softened upon seeing Sri Caitanya. He wanted to talk to Him and establish impersonal Brahman on the basis of his own scripture, the Koran.
When that person established the impersonal (Formless) Brahman conception of the Absolute Truth on the basis of the Koran, Sri Caitanya refuted his argument.
Whatever arguments he put forward, the Lord refuted them all. Finally the person became stunned and could not speak.
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said,” The Koran has certainly established impersonalism, but at the end it refutes that impersonalism and establishes the personal God.”
The Koran accepts the fact that ultimately there is only One God. He is full of opulence, and His bodily complexion is Blackish.”
(A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada writes in his purport to this verse: The revealed scripture of the Mohammedans is the Koran. There is one Muslim sampradaya (school of thought) known as the Sufis. The Sufis accept impersonalism, believing in the oneness of the living entity with the Absolute Truth. Their supreme slogan is “analahak.” The Sufis Sampradaya was certainly derived from Adi Sankaracarya’s Advaitist impersonalism.)
“According to the Koran, the Lord has a supreme, blissful, transcendental body. He is the Absolute Truth, the all-pervading, omniscient and eternal being. He is the origin of everything.”
“Creation, maintainance and dissolution come from Him. He is the original shelter of all gross and subtle cosmic manifestations.”
“The Lord is the Supreme Truth worshipable by everyone. He is the cause of all causes. By engaging in His devotional service, the living entity is relieved from material existance.”
“No conditioned soul can get out of material bondage without serving the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Love at His lotus feet is the ultimate goal of life.”
(Purport by Prabhupada: According to the Muslim scripture, without evadat, offering prayers at a mosque or elsewhere 5 times daily (namaja), one cannot be successful in life. Sri Caitanya pointed out that in the revealed scripture of the Mohammedans, love of Godhead is the ultimate goal. Karma yoga and Jnana yoga are certainly described in the Koran, but ultimately the Koran states that the ultimate goal is the offering of prayers to the Supreme Person (evadat):)
“The happiness of liberation, whereby one merges into the Lord’s existance, cannot even be compared to a fragment of the transcendental bliss obtained by service unto the Lord’s lotus feet.”
“In the Koran there are descriptions of fruitive activity, speculative knowledge, mystic power and union with the Supreme, but ultimately everything is refuted as the Lord’s personal feature and His devotional service is established.”
“The scholars of the Koran are not very advanced in knowledge. Although there are many methods prescribed, they do not know that the ultimate conclusion should be considered the most powerful.”
“Seeing your own Koran and deliberating over what is written there, what is your conclusion?”
The Saintly Muslim replied,” All that You have said is true. This has certainly been written in the Koran, but our scholars can neither understand nor accept it.
”
“Usually they describe the Lord’s impersonal aspect, but they hardly know that the Lord’s personal feature is worshipable. They are undoubtedly lacking this knowledge.”
“Since You are that very same Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, please be merciful upon me. I am fallen and unfit.”
“I have studied the Koran very extensively, but from it I cannot conclusively decide what the ultimate goal of life is nor how I can approach it.”
“Now that I have seen You, my tongue is chanting the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra. The false prsetige I felt from being a learned scholar is now gone.
”
Saying this, the saintly Muslim fell at the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya mahaprahu and requested Him to speak of the ultimate goal of life and the process by which it could be obtained.
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said,”Please get up. You have chanted the holy name of Krsna; therefore the sinful reactions you have accrued for many millions of lives are now gone. You are now pure.”
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu then told all the Mohammedans there,”Chant the holy name of Krsna! Chant the holy name of Krsna!” As they all began to chant, they were all overwhelmed by ecstatic love.
In this way Sri Caitanya indirectly initiated the saintly Mohammedan by advising him to chant the holy name of Krsna. The Mohammedan’s name was changed to Ramadasa. There was also another Pathana Muslim whose name was Vijuli Khan.
(Purport by Prabhupada: After being initiated, the devotees of Krsna change their names. Whenever a person in the western world becomes interested in this Krsna conscious movement he is initiated by this process. In India we are falsely accused of converting mlecchas and yavanas into the Hindu religion. In India, there are many Mayavadi sanyasis known as jagad-guru, although they have hardly visited the whole world. Some are even not sufficiently educated, yet they make accusations against our movement and accuse us of destroying the principles of the Hindu religion by accepting Muslims and yavanas as Vaishnavas. Such people are simply envious. We are not spoiling the Hindu system of religion but are simply following in the footsteps of Sri Caitanya by travelling all over the world and accepting those who are interested in understanding Krsna as Krsnadasa or Ramadasa. By the process of a bona fide initiation, their names are changed.)
Vijuli Khan was very young, and he was the son of the king. All the other Mohammedans, Pathanas, headed by Ramadasa, were his servants.
Vijuli Khan also fell down at the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and the lord placed His foot on his head.
Bestowing His mercy upon them in this way, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu left. All the Pathana Mohammedans then became mendicants.
Later these very Pathanas became celebrated as the Pathana Vaisnavas.They toured all over the country and chanted the glorious activities of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
Vijuli Khan became a greatly advanced devotee, and his importance was celebrated at every holy place of pilgrimage.
In this way Lord Caitanya performed His pastimes. Coming to the western part of India, He bestowed good fortune upon the yavanas and mlecchas.
(Prabhupada’s Purport: The word yavana means “meat eater.” Anyone from a meat-eating community is called a yavana. One who does not strictly observe the Vedic regulative principles is called a mleccha.
These words do not refer to any particular person. Even if a person is born in a brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya or sudra family, he is a mleccha or yavana if he does not strictly follow the regulative principle or if he eats meat.)

So as can be clearly seen, Krsna, Himself, as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, did not reject the Koran or Islam, but rather encouraged the Muslims to recognize its authentic meaning. Prophet Mohammed recognized that the people of Arabia were hopelessly lost in rituals and idol worship and had forgotten that the goal of all worship is to please God. By removing the many diversions, he was able to focus his followers attention on the worship of the Supreme Godhead, who is the source of all the demigods and the goal of all sacrifice, charity, prayer and worship.

Because the people Allah is preaching to are different. So if Allah presented the Vedic regulative principles to his followers they would not be able to follow them… So in different times and different places Krishna appears or sends His representative to reestablish the religious principles.
Even in the Vedas there are different instructions for different classes of people. There is Kali and people who are offering goats to Kali under the Vedic traditions. So the actual details, they will vary, according to time and place and the people concerned. But the principals of worshipping God, praying, chanting, regulative and moral principles, etc. They are the same.
But of course what Muslims are following and doing today, it is sure to be a perverted reflection of the original ideas of Mohamad, as what the Christians are doing today has almost nothing to do with what Lord Jesus Christ taught or what the Hindus are doing today has nothing to do with the teachings of Krishna.
So in time everything is lost, a religious systems become corrupt and the original principles are lost and there is a need to reestablish the religious principles.
And Lord Caitanya’s sankirtan movement is for that. To reestablish the real religious principles for all the people of the world.
Then why present day Muslims don’t want to compromise with people from other religion? Why they call us Kafirs & killings of Kafirs is regarded as the best things to do. They calls it as per Koran, Kafirs are Wazibul-a-Katal “

Definition of God is the Supreme Person.
He is a person and we are people. But He is the supreme person, the original person. The one person who is providing for and maintaining all the other people.
Another definition of God is Krishna. Krishna means “The all-attractive person.” So God is the person who has all attractive qualities in full. God has all knowledge, all strength, all fame, all beauty, all wealth and all renunciation.
There are many definitions and you please read Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is yourself and you will find many definitions of God…

Now, can any one eventually become a person like Krishna? Or a Supreme person? Can any one say that Ram of Ramyana was not as good as Krishna of Mahabharata? Was Byasdev or Balmiki less powerful and graceful than Krishna?

Krishna is the creator of the universe. I am sorry if I did not say it, Krishna is the creator of the universe.
And no. You can never become like Krishna. Krishna is eternally the Supreme Personality of Godhead and we remain eternally His servants.
Lord Ramacandara is Krishna, Krishna appearing in a different mood.
Veda Vyasa is an empowered incarnation of Krishna, as far as I know. That means jiva tattva, but empowered by Krishna for in this case writing the Vedas. So we can become empowered by Krishna. But we remain eternally servants of Krishna.

Could you Please provide Quotes from the Koran for the above mentioned statements. This would be helpful for proving that Lord is the Supreme Person and not just power.
There is no point in providing quotes from the Koran. Actually the Koran, the Bible, etc, these are not perfect books. They are full of contradictions. This is what was uncovered in the conversation between Chand Kazi and Lord Caitanya. So it is pointless trying to preach from these books actually. They are not perfect. Of course they are very nice in the sense that the essential ideas of God and serving God and chanting His holy names are there in the Koran and the Bible. But it is not very well explained and is full of inconsistencies and it is not presented in any logical way.
So there is no need for us to do anything else except realize the science of Krishna consciousness from reading Srila Prabhupada’s books and hearing his classes and we can preach pure Krishna consciousness and that will attract everyone. It is a total waste of time trying to convince people on the basis of the scriptures of the meat eaters for they are contradictory.

This Koran vers 2.138 has no connection only with skin color (complexion) Arabs People and Humans Creator the Allah, but look at themself, and around you, and still, the whole universe,……….
If we observe and ponder, we can see that Allah imbued every color and characteristic in His creation.
For example, the color of the sky, the different colors of water and of the rivers, of dryness and of wetness, the colors of mountains, the colors of trees, the colors of different fruits. In a tree there is difference of color in every leaf, and there are differences in the colors of fruits and vegetables, and there are different colors in the natural resources of the Earth, and a difference in the colors of the sunrise and the sunset. The human race is descended from one father (Adam, as.) but our race has many colors. These differences of colors are but one indication of the power of Allah.

Exactly what I’m saying, the meaning is relative to purification, there is no Panthesim as asserted by these various commentators. The verse has nothing to do with colour of skin. There are translations above to make it more clear. ‘we take our’ not in the original, more of clarification due to the nature of classical Arabic, that’s why it’s in brackets to show it is not a translation of the text.
The sura al-baqarah (2.138) of the quran states :
sibgatallah wa man ‘ahsanu minallahi sibgah “we take our colour from allah and who is better than allah at colouring?”
This means that the colour of the arabs analogously resembled allah’s colour. From the representation of allah’s complexion by the arabs, we can safely conclude that allah is of a beautiful dark or blackish complexion.

PICKTHAL: (We take our) colour from Allah, and who is better than Allah at colouring. We are His worshippers.
Yusulf ali translation is more clear, you need to read the translation notes for pickthal to understand he’s not not taking about colour.
Also you comment actually doesnt make sence. Tha arabs were more a an olive complextion and your interpretation is illogical.

Prophet said “the master of all foods is the meat” Meat is a highly nutritious diet, as doctors testify. There is no prohibition to be vegetarian in Islam, but any practising Muslim will come across meat on many Islamic occasions when meat is provided. For example, the sacrifice of sheep and distribution to the poor at the end of Hajj (pilgrimage). It should also be noted that it is not obligatory to eat meat in Islam.

There are many rules regarding halal and haraam with regards to food and drink. It is important to note that the rules may vary depending on necessity.

Anything from a pig, meat and by-products etc, are all haraam.
Drinking alcohol is haraam.
Halal animals should be slaughtered according to Islamic law. Many towns now have a halal butchers shop.
If a halal animal, eg cow, is not slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law then the meat becomes haraam for Muslims.
Carrion is haraam
A few rulings from Islamic Laws by Ayatullah Seestani:
2633. All birds, like eagle, vultures and wild falcons having a claw and talon, are haraam to eat. And all such birds whose gliding is more than flapping the wings, and have talons, are also haraam to eat. Those whose flapping of the wings while flying, is more than gliding, are halal to eat.
Thus, one can identify halal birds from haraam ones by observing how they fly. And if the style of any bird’s flight cannot be determined, that bird will be considered halal for eating, if it has a crop or a gizzard or a spur on the back of its feet. In the absence of all these, the bird will be haraam. As an obligatory precaution, one should refrain from eating the meat of all types of crows.
Other birds like the hens, the pigeons, the sparrows including the ostrich and the peacock are halal to eat, but it is Makrooh to kill birds like swallows and hoopoes. And the animals which fly, but are not classified as winged birds, like the bats, are haraam; similarly, the bees, the mosquitoes, and other flying insects are, as an obligatory precaution, haraam.
2634. If a part which possesses life is removed from the body of a living animal, for example, if the fatty tail or some flesh is removed from the body of a living sheep, it is najis and haraam to eat.
2635. Certain parts of the halal animals are haraam to eat. They are fourteen:
Blood
Excrement
Male and female genitals
Womb
Glands
Testicles
Pituitary gland, a ductless gland in the brain
The marrow which is in the spinal cord
The two wide (yellow) nerves which are on both sides of the spinal cord, (as an obligatory precaution).
Gall bladder
Spleen
Urinary bladder
Eye balls

I am studying KC since 4 months approximately. As much I came to understand is that Krishna is the same purity which is called Allah near Muslims. The Arabic word Quran means “most read”. It means the book are the script which is most read in all sense. It’s the same meaning of “Parano” in old Hindi containing the same meanings. Anyway, when I have come to know that KC has the most excellent conceptualization of God, my heart became melted for KC at all.

Surah An-Nur : Ayat 35
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His Light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a chandelier (of glass). The chandelier is as it were a star glittering like a pearl; it is lighted from the blessed olive tree which is neither of east nor of west, it is near that its oil may flare up even though the fire touches it not. The Light is upon the Light. Allah guides to His Light whomsoever He will and Allah narrates examples for the people. And Allah knows all things.(35)
Surah Al-Qasas : Ayat 88
And worship not another god with Allah. There is no god besides Him. Everything is perishable save His Being. His is the command and towards Him, you shall be returned. (88)

Allah has an IMAGE:
Prophet Muhammad said: “My Lord came to me in the most beautiful image”
Al-Tirmidhi (3234) narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “My Lord came to me in the most beautiful image and said, ‘O Muhammad.’ I said, ‘Here I am at Your service, my Lord.’ He said, ‘What are the chiefs (angels) on high disputing about…’” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
Prophet Muhammad said to his asabas [associates]: “We take our colour from Allah.”
This means that the colour of the Arabs analogously resembled Allah’s colour. From the representation of Allah’s complexion by the Arabs, we can safely conclude that Allah is of a beautiful dark complexion.
Of course, this colour of God is not material but spiritual. When Prophet Muhammad met Allah (Vishnu or Krishna), he saw dazzling effulgence emanating from God. Therefore, Allah has a dazzling dark colour-contradictory to mundane senses but transcendentally beautiful.
According to recognized Vedic scriptures, Allah or Krishna has a spiritual, dazzling, dark colour, beyond the perception of the material senses and the imagination of the mundane mind.
Sibgatallah wa man ‘ah – sanu minallahi sibgah: “Allah possesses beautiful dark color”, “We take our Color from Allah. Who is better than Allah at coloring?”
Actually Allah being the source of everything it is no wonder that some color of this material world should resemble His, although His color is not material.
From the above verse if Arabs analogously resembles the color of God then we can safely conclude that color of God is a beautiful dark complexion. But God has been described as full of dazzling effulgence and no dark color in this world is dazzling. This seems contradictory. Actually there is no contradiction if we realize that this dark color of Allah is spiritual but not material. Being a spiritual color it is transcendental to perception and mind and can afford to throw out flashing effulgence. Similarly Krishna is famous as Syamsundara or one whose complexion is darkish but at the same time is full of most dazzling splendor. See this verse from Brahma Samhita:
“I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane.” (Brahma Samhita 5.32)
Al-Quran discribes the light (Brahmajyoti) of Allah as follows:
“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things. ” (24.35)
Allah is not only discribed as light, but also as the “posessor of light”
The First part says: Allaahu Nuurus…. Allah is light
Then it continues: Masalu Nuurihii…… Nuurihii means “His light”.
So Allah is not only light but also possesses light.
God is not only a beautiful person but He also possesses a wonderful form. Srimad Bhagavatam reveals God has an eternal spiritual body that is full of knowledge and bliss (satcitananda). Gods body is different from what we possess in this material world- namely a material body composed of stool, urine, puss, mucus and bile. But God Krishna has a spiritual form, which is of a beautiful blackish complexion like a monsoon cloud.
So from the statements of Al-Quran we can understand, that the image of Allah is of a beautiful dark color, surrounded by a dazzling light.
While the Quran only states, that Allah has a beautiful dark color, the vedic scriptures discribe in much more detail the dark color of Lord Krishna.

कृष्ण Kṛṣṇa (Sanskrit, alternate spellings Krsna, Krishna, “black” or “dark blu e”) – Krishna literally means “the dark one” or even “the black one”; sometimes, in poetry, the colour of Krishna is compared to “a dark blue rain cloud in the monsoon season.
Krishna’s Color is described in most of the vedic reference books as Megha-Varnam. i.e. the color of dark rain clouds that are filled with water or clouds that are ready to shower rain. Krishnas color is therefore compared to a blue-blackish rain cloud in the monsoon season.
Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. Kṛṣṇa is bluish. Kṛṣṇa’s color is like the sky. When you see the clear sky, bluish sky, are you not very happy? “Oh, today is very nice day, blue sky.” Especially in this country, when the sky is always overcast with cloud. So why you appreciate the color of the sky so much? That is Kṛṣṇa’s color. Kṛṣṇa’s body, there is a ray, brahmajyoti. That brahmajyoti is reflected in the sky. That brahmajyoti is outside this material sky, but that is being reflected. Therefore the sky’s color, it appears bluish.

ghana-śyāmāḥ — as having a complexion resembling bluish rainclouds — SB 10.13.46
Krishna, the dark-coloured-one, has a beautiful complexion like that of a raincloud in the monsoon season. As per the ancient writings the colour of lord Krishna is Black or darkish blue. He is been called as Shyama which means Black. The colour black depicts rain clouds and the colour blue depicts sea and sky which corresponds to ‘ananth’ or never ending (infinity). Further, the paintings of face of all the avatars of Lord Vishnu are always discribed as blue coloured.
If Allah or Krishna symbolizes a black colour with a dazzling light around than can we justify this by findings of modern science and scientists that everything came unto Black Hole, which is as darkest as it can be with a dazzling light around it which ultimately ends unto the black hole.
Does this mean that the writer of these scriptures were aware of that? Does it mean that they knew about Black holes?!

This is rubbish. The modern scientists have no idea at all. There are no ‘black holes’. It is just imagination of the astronomers and physicists. They have no idea what is up there in the sky and just make some crazy speculations and these black holes are nothing more than the imagination or dreams of the scientists…
