It's not difficult to detect... They don't want to detect it! That's the problem.
The symptom of the soul is consciousness... There is no other explaination of
consciousness...
dehino 'smin yatha dehe

"As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood
to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death.
