Hello. Hare Krishna!! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glorites to Srila
Prabhupada!
It's great you've transformed from encouraging people to eat cows to
encouraging people to protect cows... How did you find out about Krishna
consciousness and what convinced you to join? Do you live in a temple? Did you
ever live in a temple??
As for cow protection it is a VERY important thing. It's good to read the
quotes from Srila Prabhupada's books on this matter. If you have access to the
folio infobase you can search for "cow protection" and read to your hearts
content... That is the real manual, Srila Prabhupada's instructions... It is
our manual for everything. Srila Prabhupada has given us everything... It is
just up to us to put it into practice...
As for cow protection in ISKCON it is a miserable thing at the moment... I have
not seen any serious cow protection program, any serious self-sufficient rural
community of devotees living together with Krishna in the center, working the
bulls, protecting and milking the cows, etc... That is the real need. We have
to develop real live communities where devotees actually live simply, plow the
fields with the bulls, grow their own grains and vegetables and milk the
cows... That was Srila Prabhupada's blueprint for New Vrndavana but it has [at
least temporarly] gone very wrong...
Anyhow it's all in Srila Prabhupada's books. If you want to make a manual on
cow protection then make it "Srila Prabhupada on Cow Protection" that will be
very nice...
