A fish is just a fish…

Hare Krishna Prabhuji,

From long time I was living a stressful life, somehow I managed till 10th May 2013. I have very bad past experiences which took everything out of me. On that very day I was so depressed that I had no interest of being on this earth anymore. I was begging Krishna to do something for me, guide me, answer me, anything, something. I didn’t wanted to be in that state of mind for a fraction of a second also.

At the same time, I had no hope of an answer, as I have pleaded and begged so many times to Him but He never replied. Out of depression, and continuous circling thoughts, I felt like I was completely numb, I was not feeling my body anymore. At that very point of time, I heard a “ding” from my phone which was lying there somewhere near my pillow. I was not in a state to check what mail or message I have got. I don’t know how that thought came in my mind, I had a hunch like Krishna trying to tell me something. And I just jumped onto Phone. I opened my gmail account, I saw a mail from you. I remember that I was subscribed at Krishna.org but I never bothered to read any mail from you but somehow I didn’t canceled the subscription also.

It’s a quite long article. I started reading it, by the time I finished with first paragraph I felt like “How they know that few minutes back I was asking question for that answer only?”. A small ray of light passed quickly through my mind, and I thought “Is really Krishna giving answers to all my questions?”. Then I can’t stop myself reading it.

By the end of the article, what I came to know that this article satisfied all my questions, which riddled my mind for a long time. I felt like that article was custom made for me only, it was dealing with the exact question that I have.

Few days back I had no answers to my questions , now I have but I don’t what to do now. I don’t know what, whether self created egoistic and arrogant image (not false ego, I am not egoistic of anything, but I act like that to deal with the harsh world outside) or anger built in me over the time (result of prolonged frustration) is pulling me back from goal shown by KRISHNA. Still that materialistic “fight back” attitude comes back and says lets try one more time materialistic way. I am no control over my mind, millions of thoughts just keep coming, sometimes senseless which not even related to me materialistically, plus I am lacking in patience also.

Please guide me on how to handle this. I could have asked one liner but I thought I should tell you what exactly happened, so that you will consider that situation and guide me accordingly.

Seeds of Islamic Fundamentalism in the Holy Koran?

To Raghib .. stop misleading, we are not all fools. I am more then happy to argue my point of view with you.

We quote here the entire verse under consideration:

2.256. Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

The next verse goes on to clarify further the limits of this “no compulsion”:

2.257. Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones: from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein [For ever].

It thus appears that ‘not believing’ is not an option, unless “no compulsion” means that you are free to believe or not and that the unbelievers, those who reject the true faith, are bound for hell. If one reads through the Koran, he will note that the threat of hell is an endlessly repeated theme. The unbelievers are threatened more than one hundred times with hell’s damnation in most diverse phrasing and wording.

Moreover, it is reiterated ad nauseam that Allah and Muhammad must be obeyed. This obviously means that believers must follow all of the rules laid down for them by Allah and Mohammed in the Koran and the traditions/Hadith and of which the Koran states in 33.36 that the believer has no choice in this. All rules must be obeyed, also the wearing of the headscarf.

All is finally made clear when we look at the context wherein verse 2.256 has been revealed. The following tradition /Hadith 14.2676 of Abu Dawood clarifies this:
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:
When the children of a woman (in pre-Islamic days) did not survive, she took a vow on herself that if her child survives, she would convert it to be a Jew. When the Banu an-Nadir [a Jewish tribe in Medina] were expelled (from Arabia, by Mohammed), there were some children of the Ansar (Helpers) among them [persons from Medina that were converts to Islam]. They said: We shall not leave our children. So Allah the Exalted revealed; “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from error.”
Within the influential Koran commentary of Ibn Kathir, this is in the following link interpreted as: “you may not compel anybody to become a Muslim”. This is likewise confirmed in one of the last revealed chapters of the Koran, e.g., chapter 9 in verse 9.29, wherein it stands written that Jews and Christians who submit to the Islamic authority and pay a special poll tax (the jizya) are allowed to keep their religion. However, in the same chapter it is also written in 9.5 that this rule is not valid for the followers of other religions. They are given the option: conversion to Islam or execution.

Today – the 21st century – this is still so stated in the Islam legal texts such as the “Reliance of the Traveller” of the Shafi’i School. We can still read this in the chapter on Jihad about Jews and Christians and about the treatment of all others.

It should be stated that at least one other school, Hanafi, treats all non-Muslims equally and offers all of them the choice between conversion to Islam or submission to Islamic authority with payment of the special poll tax (jizya).

CONCLUSION:
“No compulsion in religion” does not mean what is generally said it means, namely that a Muslim/Moslima is free to choose at will. Or even is free to change religion. About the apostate from Islam, Mohammed proclaimed: “whoever changes his religion, slay him” (Bukhari 9.84.57).

It does however mean that Jews and Christians must not be forced to convert to Islam. Christians and Jews do not obey Allah and Mohammed and, hence, are headed for hell. It’s their own free choice. They have been warned.

So why is ISKCON now coming to the conclusion now? Why do I hear lectures at the temple saying Allah is “god” etc. Lectures like this confuse people and make them less aware of the dangers.

Islam is not a faith but Arab imperialism and no more, based around a cult figure. Even the Bible does not sanction Islam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishmael

Blessings Given to Ishmael

In the Bible Abraham was given separate blessings for his children found in Genesis 12-17, two blessings one for the descendants of his son Isaac found in Genesis 17:2-9, Deuteronomy 1:7-8 and the other for the descendants of Ishmael found in Genesis 16:11-13, Genesis 17:20, Genesis 21:8-21. Upon hearing the Lord’s blessing for Isaac, Abraham pleaded with the Lord that Ishmael also be given a blessing.[17:18-21] In the second covenant given to Ishmael, the Lord promises:
To make his descendants one great nation[17:20][21:13][21:18]
That his descendants would live in hostility with all his brothers[16:11-13]
That his descendants would live to the east of all his brothers[16:11-13]
Ishmael’s brothers, other than Isaac, are found in Genesis 25:1-6. Among Abraham’s other descendants are Medan (the father of the Medes) and Jokshan whose son was Dedan whose son was Asshurim (the father of the Assyrian people). An extra biblical book known as the book of Jubilees places the location and identity of the Ishmaelites as the Arab peoples residing in Arab territories. This is the current view for the majority of the Christian, Islamic and Jewish faiths, though according to Biblical accounts the Arab people traditionally have had long-standing alliances with the descendants of the Assyrians and the Medes. As well, the Arab populations in modernity represent many nations rather than one nation as specified biblically. Other references, such as the book of Jashar indicate that the Ishmaelites settled in Havilah which is located in Central India.

NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka

Billal is the name of Mohammad’s apostle, he was I believe his first one. I understand your desperation in posting such comments and trying to misinform us all. I also know quite a bit about your faith and what it stands for.

So let me put you right with regards to your comments, you said “…NASA is a hoax you retards…therefore this and the moon landings are fake..why are people so ignorant”.

The previous government of India, had carried our surveys and determined that a sea way has to be opened as an alternative to having to sail around Sri Lanka to get to easter part of India, thus saving time and money for the fuel, as well as providing a defendable sea lane. One of the engineering feat they had to carry out was to cut through the rock that forms Ram Situ. This rock formation runs the course that the images show.

We know in Islam you are allowed to lie, deceive and use strategies to achieve your end goal of spreading Islam by any means. We are not all fools and we can not all be deceived, because we take shelter of Krishna and He protects us. Kindly take your lies elsewhere and I will add if your “god” is so desperate to be loved that the followers can lie, cheat and force others to love such a “god”, then I say keep your faith to yourself. Thank you for opening our eyes.

Islam Permits Lying to Deceive Unbelievers and Bring World Domination!

http://www.muslimfact.com/bm/terror-in-the-name-of-islam/islam-permits-lying-to-deceive-unbelievers-and-bri~print.shtml

Muslims lie when it is in their interest to do so and “Allah” will not hold them accountable for lying when it is beneficial to the cause of Islam. They can lie without any guilt or fear of accountability or retribution. A lie in the defense of Islam is approved even applauded in their “holy” books.

al-Taqiyya:
deception; the islamic word for concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies.

They can call it anything they like, because we gave away our rights and let them dominate us and accepted their version of history and also are happy to call ourselves “Hindus” when no such name existed. We have no pride at all.

» Posted By Sunil On April 15, 2014 @ 11:26 pm

We should not forget that India is a secular state and we are all ment to forget our culture, faith and history. Even if we can see proof we should call it a myth and we should be greatful to the muslims and the west for civilising us.

Is this not what is taught in India these days? Progress = Economics, + adopting western and islamic values + castism + anti-“Hindu” tradition + corruption + Nerhu/Gandhi family rule + denial of history … this is the true India and we are very proud of it !!!

» Posted By Sunil On November 8, 2010 @ 6:23 am

Why do we have to have Christian names for everything ? Like Adam’s bridge? Or we have to always justify ourselves in front of Christians, Jews and Muslims (people of the book)?

We are different and we have not got a faith but far more, it’s a relationship with Krishna.

» Posted By Sunil On August 31, 2010 @ 12:56 pm

What you are saying is absolutely true…… When there was a land, why one has to build a bridge. If the sea level is going up and in next few years some of the the islands like Maldives wont be seen on the map which are existing today, what has happened in past 1700000 years is that a land has submerged in the water and Idiots think its a bridge. If millions of years old dinosaurs skeleton are found why cant we find the skeletons of those monkeys who build it.After all NASA has not said that the bridge was build with human hands. It was an exaggeration done by Indian Media whose remote is in the hands of BJP, VHP AND BAJRANGDAL.

You want proof of the landings. get a powerful telescope – focus on the area of the landings – and eureka, you shall find foot prints, the moon buggy, the lander. All you need is a big telescope. Simple, isnt it.

Are the Hare Krishnas a Cult?

There’s a very fine line dividing a religious group and a cult. Breaching this fine line is a common occurrence in every religion currently on this planet. All we have to do is wait for the woeful days when this happens.

Questions From A Muslim With Answers From Khan

radhe krishna,
as lord shree krishna explained in his talks in Bhagvatgeeta that all that we thinks we do we perform depends on three type of gun sattogun, rajogun & tamogun here it is clearly explaind that in sattogun a person clearly understands what is true for ex he says Lord Shree Krishna is the Supreme Personlity of the godhead because he knew that krishna has himself explained in Bhagvatgeeta that im the source of all living and non living being, next is Rajogun in this catagory a person always thinks of gaining something such as filmstars, they are always doing makeups to become beautiful but they ll having that much knowledge that this is temporary and third one is Tammogun in this categories people are called as rascals(moorkh) by lord shree krishna because they never do good for themselves and not for others for ex. Some people sees the reality eventhought their illusion dont wants to accepts this reality they just goes on argueing that krishna is robber because he always used to steals the butter , he steals clothes of gopis
My dear peoples part and parcels of lord shree krishna if u beleive that lord krishna steals butter, clothes then why dont u beleive that lord krishna lifted mountain Govardhana and why dont u beleive whatever he explained in Bhagvat geeta is true this is nothing but the effects of tammoguna so simply by fighting my religion your religiong just try to understand what is religion just like prabhupada said religion is to understand god and to love him and that is perfect knowledge.

The Big Bang Theory (BBT)

yes it can. its called the theory of gravity

» Posted By sunil On November 9, 2013 @ 4:01 pm

Big bang is a theory, and there are other theories floating around too. But the Big Bang is the most plausible theory at the moment, because the fact that the universe is expanding supports that theory.

” (just a theory?) ” – Evolution is called a theory, but its a scientific fact now. Its just called that, because more evidence keeps presenting itself.

“poor uninformed public” – thats normally a classification for the religious kinds.

‘Chant Hare krishna and be happy’. Thats where the problem lies.

» Posted By Sunil On September 11, 2011 @ 8:22 pm

Well, you guys really simplified the big bang theory. Obviously did not pay much attention in the science class, and probably to make it worse, did not do any follow up studies. Narrow-mindedness and blind religious fervor is the worst a human can do to him-self. Keep your mind open and LEARN.

  1. Govind says:

    Hare krishna Prabhuji.,Dandvat Pranaam
May i know about the author of the book”Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita As It Is” named mukund das prabhu.Had he any personal association with Srila Prabhupada.

    • This book is a compilation of direct quotes from Srila Prabhupada speaking about his own life. The author is Srila Prabhuapda, all Mukunda did was compile the quotes and he did a good job of it. He wrote a bit of rubbish on the last 2 pages but apart from that he did not write a single word in the book. It is a collection of Prabhupada quotes and the author of this book is Srila Prabhuapda.

  2. Vamshi says:

Prabhu Madhudvisa Dasa.Is Jagannath Krishna himself or is just an expansion of Krishna like Vishnu,Rama etc.In Iskcon lectures I heard that Jagannath is Krishna himself, they have proved this by saying a story from Skanda purana. Is this true or Iskcon lectures are just bogus?I found no video Prabhupad talking aboyt Lord Jagannath.Oh Prabhu kindly answer my doubts.Hare Krishna

    • Yes. Lord Jagannatah is Krishna Himself. It is Jagannatha [Krishna] Balarama and Krishna’s sister Subhadra.

So Jagannatha is deity form of Krishna. He is representation of Krishna with His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra,

It is deity manifestation of Krishna, Balarama and Lady Subhadra,

  3. tanu says:

    Jai Govind

I request you clear my doubts.I understand the complexities of life processes, cellular mechanisms and other natural phenomenon cannot be explained solely by reasoning and scientific theories as somewhere or other our knowledge is limited.I am a science student nd nature lover. After reading the article posted by you regarding the concept of the origin of life,a question arisen in my mind that krishna is all powerful, then, why he designed this universe in this complicated way?,why life originated? why he made all that dna etc matter space?what is his true nature? why are we given these bodies these reasoning abilities?why krishna waited for billions of years and made us take birth here?why prakrati and purush got seperated? who were those dinosaurs etc for souls are eternal were those dinosaurs primitive and other organisms we only? are there any planet lest earth having life?why will happen atlast for we are ultimately destined to reach our eternal govind? why doesn’t he appears now and clear all these doubts for one thing is sure that if even he messages in some ways we will submit to him?why krishna is so naughty why has he made everything complicated?I know these are childlish questions but still worthy to be answered…..

I am a krishana devotee.I feel as if there is pure love for him deep in my heart. But at the same time I do believe in science.Sometimes i find myself stuck in between science emotions belief and devotion.I want to understand my Govind,I want to understand myself.

I request my friends to please give answer to these questions.I hope i will get atleast answers of a few questions as i found this site quite appealing.

    thankyou!
    Radhe krishna

    • Hare Krishna Jai Govind

To clear your doubts you have to become Krishna conscious. Because unless you become Krishna conscious you will not be able to understand what Krishna consciousness is and you will remain continually bewildered.

All these questions are irrelevant. You seem to accept that Govinda exists, that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Now you have to just surrender to the idea that you are His servant. And then you need to find out practically how you can engage in the service of Krishna. And to find out how to do this you need to read Srila Prabhupada’s books. And in the process of becoming Krishna conscious all your other questions will automatically be answered.

The scientists can not understand anything. They only have very fragmental information about everything they study. The information we can gather through our material senses is very limited. There are so many things we can not perceive through our material senses. So they can not understand what they can not perceive.

So instead of just speculating all these questions and being bewildered like this it is better to just admit that in our conditioned state with our very limited mind and our material senses we can not hope to understand Krishna or even this material world which is created ultimately by Krishna.

The way to understand these things is to become Krishna conscious. We can not understand without becoming Krishna conscious.

So you have to learn how to become Krishna conscious… That is the answer to all your questions. And Krishna consciousness is a science and that science is very elaborately presented in the books of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

      Madhudvisa dasa
