They have invented the United Nations and world health organizations. But all these attempts are exactly the same process as to water the leaves and the twigs. They don’t know the missing point: Krishna.

My Dear Madhudvisa,
Please accept my blessings. I thank you very much for your letter of August 11th, 1969, and I am so pleased to learn that your activities in San Francisco are going on nicely in cooperation with Jayananda and Cidananda.
Jayananda and Cidananda are tested devotees as much as yourself and Tamala Krishna. You are all unique pairs. So I am gradually realizing that my attempt in this country to spread Krishna Consciousness has now taken some root, and I am sure this will grow more and more ’til it reaches the Lotus Feet of Krishna in Goloka Vrindaban. Actually, our most Beloved Object is Krishna. Our love reposed on anything within our experience is due to our ultimate love for Krishna. People are trying to love the branches and leaves without taking care of the root. But when water is poured down on the root, the branches and leaves automatically become luxurious. This philosophy of taking care of the Supreme is missing in the modern civilization. They do philanthropic work, humanitarian work, national work, social work and many similar other works; now ultimately they have invented the United Nations and world health organizations. But all these attempts are exactly the same process as to water the leaves and the twigs. They don’t know the missing point: Krishna. So we have got very great responsibility to spread Krishna Consciousness throughout the world.
A little sample of Krishna Consciousness exhibited in San Francisco during the Ratha yatra Festival was very much appreciated by the public. I think in the San Francisco Examiner it was said that people followed the Ratha and experienced so much joy as they had never enjoyed at any time within recent memory. The reason is that we are giving people direct contact with Krishna, the Reservoir of all pleasure.
Our administration may be not very perfect, but that fact is that as soon as one is in contact with Krishna he will be happy.
So you have got a very nice thin, Krishna Consciousness, for distributing to the suffering humanity, and do it nicely, combinedly. It is so nice thing that anyone who distributes it and anyone who takes it, both are benefited; and Krishna also becomes very happy when all His children are benefited in this way. There is no doubt about it that our philosophy is the supermost perfect presentation. We can challenge any other philosophy and establish that this Krishna Consciousness is the panacea for all material problems.
I am very much pleased to learn that you are now distributing 75-100 copies of BTG daily. As you have suggested, you have now outgrown the old temple on Frederick Street, and you may try to find a nice church in the same area. I know that there are some churches there–Cidananda knows where they are located exactly– so you continue to look diligently for such large church.

Please say something about Coronavirus that is wreaking havoc all over the world. People are in great anxiety because of it, none of the leaders are able to help them out. Is this another result of making the world Godless?

Yes. Everything is going on ultimately under the direction of Krishna. However corana virus is first of all, man-made. They have been trying to weaponize different viruses and create world pandemics for many years now. Mostly they have failed in the past. So it looks like they have been a bit more successful with corona virus but still it is much, much less serious than what they are making out.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people die from the normal flu. Plus millions of people are dying from old age, from heart disease and so many other things. This is martya-loka, the place of death, everyone is dying around us all the time.
When they have a virus like this it is quite contagious and a large percentage of the population become exposed to it but many will not even notice they have it or maybe have some mild symptoms and recover quickly. So mostly all these people who are going to die anyhow also get infected with the virus and in them it may be more serious because they have already got some underlying condition that is causing them to die anyhow. So the thing is all these people, who would have died anyhow, will still die, but they will have been infected by the corona virus and will be counted as being killed by it but they were going to die anyhow.
So in this way, by counting all the people who would die anyhow as corona virus victims, they make it seem like it is a very serious thing. But most of these people were going to die anyhow. Maybe in some cases their death was accelerated a bit by the virus but if you look at the number of people who die in a normal year and compare it with the number of people who will die during the corona virus time it will be virtually identical.
So it is way less serious than what they are making it out to be.
The truth is the world economic system has collapsed but now they have this excuse, corona virus, to blame it on.
There are so many reasons, but it is a man-made virus, either released accidentally or on purpose, still ultimately Krishna is sanctioning everything and Krishna is in control.
This whole world-wide hysteria is being generated and anyhow all we can do is chant Hare Krishna.
The thing is the material world is a difficult place full of suffering and death so we are not surprised by the corona virus. And this is certainly a sign that the world is Godless. In a God-conscious world scientists will not be developing deadly viruses designed to create global pandemics and releasing them.
So really we can only expect problems like disease, pestilence, food shortages, floods, droughts, and so on.
We can help the situation by performing Sankirtan-yajna, chanting the Hare Krishna mantra and getting others to chant Hare Krishna and getting them to read Srila Prabhupada’s books.
That is the only way to improve the conditions, to perform Sankirtan-yajna.

Hare Krishna Prabhu! Will the fear of Corona virus force people to take the teachings of Srila Prabhupada more seriously if they know something about them? There are lockdowns all over the world so this means a lot of time to chant Hare Krishna and read Srila Prabhupada’s books. Will this situation help Krishna Consciousness movement to some extent?

Krishna consciousness is not a material thing and is not affected or benefited by material things. People will take to Krishna consciousness if they get the chance to associate with a pure devotee of Krishna and hear from him and if they get the chance to hear the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra from the lips of pure devotees and if they get the chance to taste Krishna prasadam and read Srila Prabhupada’s books. So these things can be done in any situation.
So it is not that the corona virus is favorable for Krishna consciousness or unfavorable. It is about a pure devotee of Krishna preaching, giving the chance of the conditioned souls to take his association, giving them prasadam, getting them to chant Hare Krishna and convincing them to purchase and read Srila Prabhupada’s books. That is required. Pure devotee of Krishna who is prepared to undergo the austerity of preaching to the conditioned souls.

Now I see a lot of people have understood that Coronavirus is being overhyped. So now they are coming up with a ‘variant’. I see the numbers and they go up and down like some film is going on. Any intelligent person can see now they are trying to fool us.

World Health Organisation is has no clue how to deal with Coronavirus so was it established only for holding meetings?
So how there can be peace? If you bring different types of dogs — greyhound and bulldog and Indian dog — and bring them, the “United Dog Association,” [laughter] so will there be peace? That is the position. I declared in Melbourne in a public meeting that this United Nation is the unity of barking dog. I told. It was published in the paper. They also criticized me, “The Swami has come to hound.” [laughter] But that is actually the fact.

We are fighting like cats and dogs. And before the Englishman came in Australia, Australia was property of somebody else. And now you have captured Australia, you are barking, “Why you have come, Indian, here?” What is this civilization? Hmm? You have taken illegally from others, and now you have become proprietor, you are barking like dog: “Why you have come here?” What is this civilization? The civilization is: all land belongs to God. We are sons of God. We can go anywhere, everywhere. It is father’s property. That is Kåñëa conscious. If we take it like that—the United Nation passed a resolution, “The whole world belongs to the whole human society”—then there is no fight, immediately. But that they’ll not do. The dog’s quality. And they are fighting always. What benefit you have derived from the United Nation except this big, big barking? That’s all. What benefit you have got? The purpose of United Nation was to stop war. Has war stopped? Then what is the use of barking? You could not achieve. Again you have started United Nation. Where is the benefit? There cannot be benefit. If you keep the dogs as dog, you bring them, “You Australian dog, come here, and American dog, come here, and European dog, come here. Live peacefully,” will they live peacefully? So if you keep the human society as cats and dogs, how you can expect peace? They must be human being. Then there will be peace. So this is the training how to make human being, this Krsna consciousness. Now these boys, they are also Europeans, Americans. They are coming from respectable, very educated… They’ll never ask for a chair. Sit down. That’s all. The necessities of life, artificial necessities, reduced, and time is saved for understanding the value of life. Without motorcar your life will not be spoiled. You can walk. But without Krsna consciousness your life is spoiled. So We recommend that “First of all understand yourself.” This is your prime business. And so far necessities of body, that can be done according to the circumstances. So if we simply waste our time for increasing unnecessary necessities of life and do not try to understand the value of life, then we remain animal.

You have seen the whole world, especially in the modern days, so many big, big nations, they are assembled together in the United Nation. Nonsense, where is the unity? Simply disunity. For the last twenty or thirty years they are struggling. Before that, they convened another, League of Nation. So they are making simply plans. And it continues for some time. Then, after fifteen or twenty years, again conflagration of war, especially in the Europe. They’re all demons. How the demons can bring in peace by so-called United Nation or League of Nation? That is not possible. They have to give up the demonic activities. They have to take to Krsna consciousness. Then they will be saved.
So we are just trying to introduce the real civilization. Actually, there is no civilization at the present moment. They are simply cats and dogs and fighting one another. There is no civilization. This is not civilization.

Prabhupada: Yes, yes. Tena tyaktena bhunjitha: [Iso mantra 1] everything belongs to God. Just like the father has got many sons and the father is the proprietor of the house. He gives one son, “This is your room,” the other son, “This is your room.” So the obedient son is satisfied what the father allows to him. Others, those who are not obedient, they want to disturb other brother that “This room also belongs to me.” That creates chaos and confusion in the world. The United Nations, they have created a society for unity of the nations, but actually that is not unity. That is another way of encroaching upon others’ property. Therefore there is no peace, unless they accept God is the Supreme proprietor. And we must be satisfied with the allotment God has given to us. Then there is no trouble. But the trouble is that we are not satisfied with the allotment given to us. That allotment can be understood by language or similar culture. So why one should encroach upon others’ property which is allotted by God? That creates disturbance. So this so-called modern civilized man, first of all they create disturbances, and then they want to make some adjustment.

Just like people in modern age, they are trying to have some peaceful situation in the world by the intervention of the United Nation, but they cannot stop it.
Again there is war. There was First War in 1914, then they manufactured League of Nations. Perhaps you, most of you, may not know. We were, at that time, boys, students, and we know about this League of Nations, how it was manufactured. Then again the Second War. And now they have manufactured United Nation. But the war is going on — Vietnam or here or there.
But actual medicine is how to stop war. That cannot be done. By one action there is war, and by another action the war is stopped for the time being. And again, when the opportunity’s there, again war. So sinful activities and atonement is like that.
