Pujaniya Madhudvisa dasaji:
I have been chanting mantras by counting in my mind. Is that wrong?

Dear Prabhu Nath Sen-
Madhudvisa dasa ji is a learned soul and a devotee. He has learnt how to control his mind, but I have not. So, I have given below my quick response.
Gita does not talk about war. It talks about performing one’s prescribed duty, the most important way of rendering the devotional service to God, without worrying about success or failure. If it means that one has to fight his own family, so be it. Compromising with one’s duty is such a slippery slope that you enjoy it first, but when you realize that you have pushed yourself, your family, your community, your nation, and complete humanity to hell, it is too late.
What seems good and bad in this relativistic material world may not be good and bad in absolute terms. Please read the whole of Bhagvad Gita. It talks about good and bad in absolute terms.

Pujaniya Madhudvisa Dasa ji,
Explanations like these definitely help, when I try to find the link between the translation and the purport.

Pujaniya Madhudvisa Dasa ji,
In the translation of text 40 of chapter 2 of Bhagavad Gita, ‘the most dangerous type of fear’ is mentioned. What is this most dangerous type of fear?

Pujaniya Souls –
What is the correct tune of chanting Hare Krishna Mantra? Is there an audio I can listen? I normally can chant 108 times, that is, one round in 10 minutes. Not sure whether it is too fast?
Also, I am having a feeling that I am losing interest in my career and family. I am scared. I have a family that depends on me.

I asked a Stanford scientist why an undifferentiated mass of cells in the zygote suddenly starts differentiating resulting in the first organ, the neural plate, because our human body exists due specialization of cells resulting from cell differentiation, else it will be a giant mass of cells…Is it gravity? Is it the proximity to certain parts of mother’s uterus?….He could not answer. He said they do not bother with such questions, because the funding organization would not like to waste money on such philosophical questions….
….The fact is that some wise man had said…in this material world..the physics can only answer how of the things…not the ultimate why….our measurements are limited by the speed of light…so, we will never be able to measure the ultimate truth…we can only speculate using probability and statistics…two greatest pseudo knowledge….what could be the range of possibilities of ultimate truth.
….If we have to know the ultimate truth, then it just can not be the physics, the foundation of all material sciences, because physics has reached its limit of experimentally verifiable truth, and succumbed to the speculative tools of probability and statistics for generating innumerable theories…
