Thank you for posting this candid video. Maybe 20 years ago I would plan to save my money and move to India. I am so sad to hear how the balanced, sensible, sustainable Vedic ways are changing in India – in such a small town too. But isn’t that the way of this material world – even the ‘best’ things decay.
Sudevi inspires me by remembering the spiritual truth right where she finds herself living and working for Krishna.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you for the encouragement on how I will be able to learn. I’ll do my best today and begin to chant the profound mantras as I offer prasadam.

Hare Krishna Madhudvisa dasa,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
For people with no access to devotees or temples this website is a treasure-house. And what a joy and relief to know that Srila Prabhupada is with us!
After reading many times the post about offering food to Lord Krishna and all its comments I now *begin* to understand the rhythm and details of cooking, offering, and honoring prasadam. I plan to start as soon as I receive a photo of Srila Prabhupada in the mail and buy new dishes for the prasadam. I do not want to prepare food for personal sense enjoyment anymore!
But I think I have a serious problem with pronunciation of the “Prasadam Offering Mantras”. I hope there is an aid to pronunciation of these mantras, especially audio, because I have no experience with Sanskrit. I do not want to be offensive as I chant everyday or every meal. I have ordered a “travel altar” but do not think recorded prasadam mantras come with that. I’m sure many people could learn by hearing audio of one slow repetition, along with your transliteration.
I feel this is very important and that bad pronunciation of the mantras is worse than silence? Should I just chant the mahamantra only?
Thank you, Madhudvisa dasa, for your patience in reading my concerns. I look forward to your reply. When I learn to pray, I will ask that you continue to receive strength for your devotion to Lord Krishna and Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you for the ideas to help me toward this goal. I’m working overtime hours to be able to buy the books, and continue thinking about ‘where and how’. I look forward to watching the videos.
This whole website is very en-courage-ing. Hare Krisha!

“O Master, please awaken some good intelligence in this insignificant disciple of yours so that my firm faith in your transcendental message may increase more and more.”
Truly a stagnant atmosphere in this material world in ’58 and now.
I hope to learn about book distribution. Being a timid middle aged woman, I’ve considered using a room in a public library with advertised weekly information/literature meetings. I have almost no musical talent and little money to cook prasadam. Please advise or give links.
Thank you for posting this Viraha Astaka, and for everything. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Dear Madhudvisa dasa,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
This particular reply addresses my own problem of being uncomfortable in this material world, knowing that the current ‘iskcon’ is a travesty and my path may be solitary. You say, “It is very nice…if we feel lost and uncomfortable in the material world…a place of suffering where there is repeated birth and death. It is not our home. We belong with Krishna in the spiritual world. So if we can get some realization of this then that is good.” Where else will I hear that?
Something on this site helps me every single day. Through this website (you, MD) and krishnastore.com , I’ve been given the mercy to know that I can still take shelter of a pure devotee in 2017- Srila Prabhupada! It is such a gift to hear and know my existence is for service – and to be taught how to serve. I will take up the prayer to Srila Prabhupada and to Krishna, “Please engage me in your service.”
