Original 17 Volume Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Back in Print!
Prabhu, I am thinking that while distributing POY , I shall also give magazines to the people who buy it. In that magazine I would like to include an article on “What happened to the Hare Krishnas” (from the http://www.harekrishnas.org website) and on “Book changes”…just briefly in about 12 small pages . In the city I live in, almost everyone is a member of ISCKON(Bangalore) .Now ISCKON Bangalore is also degrading… So I think this might warn them not to read books from there(or be it’s member). I will also include in the magazine, your websites containing the original books so that people could read more original books…Could you please tell me whether this will be a good idea or it’s not necessary…?

I am very sorry I could not find the verse. I went through the lecture 4-5 times but could not find it, possibly because it was incomplete lecture. However, we can get to know that the location is Vrindavan and the year is 1975/76.new hindi class 6(repeated)
Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30new hindi class 7
SB 7.6.3new hindi class 8(repeated)
Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30new hindi class 9/10
Sri Siksastakam 2Thus by Srila Prabhupada’s mercy and by the grace of Krishna we have been successful in deciphering most of the Hindi classes. I have enjoyed doing this service and have to admit that I never knew that service was so enjoyable. In school, whenever I render service, all I get is only scoldings and a headache. Here I got immense peace and satisfaction as well a wonderful opportunity to listen to SP’s transcendental lectures.(inspite of many difficulties and maya’s obstacles)
I have only one request. In future if there is anything I can do to serve Srila Prabhupada, please tell me, whether it is Hindi or English. For the time being I may be busy in some “”important”” exams, but as SP said, nothing is more important than service to spiritual master and Sri Krishna.
Hare Krishna. All Glories To Srila Prabhupada.

Hare Krishna Guruji,
In this post I want to talk about two people close to me.
1. Recently, one friend of mine asked me about what SB tells about the human body. My misfortune is that from what I have read till now, I only know that our body is a ‘city of nine gates’
(Puranjana) and we have gross and subtle body(and soul) and from where we can be born(egg, sweat etc). Somehow I want to make him interested in SB as he belongs to innocent category and asks about SB quite often(scientific doubts). I know very little and lack the capability to explain anything spiritual. Therefore, I humbly request you to tell about the body and at the same time how to somehow make him read the SB pdf found in your website.2. Someone very close to me(i.e my sis) on my request read the entire BG in one and half months and is reading SB. She is telling that she is not feeling very interested as she was before. Guruji, how shall I keep her interested? Frankly speaking, I have felt a bit of ecstasy of chanting and reading(1%) but I am too fallen and incapable to make her feel how beautiful KC is. Neither are there any Sankirtan parties which can immediately attract people towards KC like during Srila Prabhupada’s times. What should I do??????
Later in the day, I would send a summary of the verses on which each Hindi class is based.
Eagerly waiting for your reply.

I had gone through new Hindi class 9/10.
It is based on the verse:
namnam akari bahudha nija-sarva-shaktis
tatrarpita niyamitah smarane na kalah
etadrishi tava kripa bhagavan mamapi
durdaivam idrisham ihajani nanuragahPadyavali Text 31(by Rupa Goswami)
Actually I could not find this verse in prabhupadabooks.com . I got it by browsing in Google. Could you just check whether it is missing or whether Srila Prabhupada never spoke about it?
Some other verses are
brahma bhuta prasannatma na socati na kankshati samah sarvesu bhuteshu
nityam bhagvata seva
pandita sama darshina
bramha bhuyaya kalpate
brahma-bhūyāya kalpatesri vigrahara dhana nityanana

The main verse is

yayātmā suprasīdatiThe supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self.(SB 1.2.6)

By Krishna’s mercy the task is nearing completion.

Hare Krishna Guruji,
I also went through new hindi class 1. The lecture is on the verse:
sarvātmanā mahi gṛṇāmi yathā manīṣam
nīco ’jayā guṇa-visargam anupraviṣṭaḥ
pūyeta yena hi pumān anuvarṇitenaTherefore, although I was born in a demoniac family, I may without a doubt offer prayers to the Lord with full endeavor, as far as my intelligence allows. Anyone who has been forced by ignorance to enter the material world may be purified of material life if he offers prayers to the Lord and hears the Lord’s glories.(SB 7.9.12)
Some other verses used are:
kṛṣṇa-bhakta–niṣkāma, ataeva ‘śānta’ bhukti-mukti-siddhi-kāmī–sakali ‘aśānta ‘( Madhya 19.149), ahaṁ mameti , sravanam kirtanam visnoh, etcIn this lecture, Srila Prabhupada once again focuses on Bhakti-yoga. In one part, He talks about karmis. He says that actually everything belongs to Krishna and the only competition between them is who steals more from Krishna! If one steals 2 houses, the other tries to steal 10 houses !!!!!!!!!!
Srila Prabhupada’s lectures are so beautiful, hillarious and at the same time so deep that anyone would fall in love with such lectures.
ALL GLORIES TO SUCH A GREAT PERSON AS HIS DIVINE GRACE A C BHAKTIVEDANATA SWAMI PRABHUPADAHare Krishna. AGTSP

I had gone through the new Hindi class 7 before. The verse it is based on is
sukham aindriyakaṁ daityā
deha-yogena dehinām
sarvatra labhyate daivād
yathā duḥkham ayatnataḥPrahlāda Mahārāja continued: My dear friends born of demoniac families, the happiness perceived with reference to the sense objects by contact with the body can be obtained in any form of life, according to one’s past fruitive activities. Such happiness is automatically obtained without endeavor, just as we obtain distress.
Some other verses are nūnaṁ pramattaḥ kurute vikarma yad indriya-prītaya āpṛṇoti, mayy āsakta-manāḥ pārtha, sravanam kirtanam vishnoh, etc
The essence of the lecture is that we should not work too hard to maintain our body. On the contrary we should save time and engage in Krishna consciousness.
——————————————–
After listening to the lecture I am wondering that is it ok that I am a student and stay at home. Actually, I am able to chant 16 rounds and read SP books almost everyday. However, during days of exam I am only able to chant 16 rounds and not able to read the books. Of course, the only thing left is honouring Krishna prasadam I hope soon I would make some arrangement for that.
At the end of lecture Srila Prabhupada says that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said that there is no need to change one’s position. So anyway I would love to have conformation on that?Hope to give updates on the remaining 3-4 as soon as possible.

Hare Krishna Guruji,
Maya had trapped me for the last two weeks in some mundane examination but now I am free. I went through new Hindi class 5 and found it to be very nice. However, Srila Prabhupada has spoken so many verses that I am confused on which exact verse He is talking abou t!!!!.
Some of the verses are:yasyāsti bhaktir bhagavaty akiñcanā
sarvair guṇais tatra samāsate surāḥ
harāv abhaktasya kuto mahad-guṇā
mano-rathenāsati dhāvato bahiḥBhāg
. 5.18.12)eṣāṁ tvanta-gataṁ pāpaṁ janānāṁ puṇya-karmaṇām
te dvandva-moha-nirmuktā bhajante māṁ dṛḍha-vratāḥ
Bg 6.45sarvātma-snapanaṁ paraṁ vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam
[Cc. Antya 20.12]mayy āsakta-manāḥ pārtha
yogaṁ yuñjan mad-āśrayaḥmanā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
harer nāma harer nāma harer nāmaiva kevalam
kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva nāsty eva gatir anyathā.
[Cc. Ādi 17.21]daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī
mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante
māyām etāṁ taranti te
Bg 7.14Therefore I am not sure about exact verse. Another important point is that Srila Prabhupada mentions that He is 78 years old. Also, the audio recording is not complete.
Hope to give updates on the remaining 4-5 as soon as possible.

” mayyah sattanamm asvasam yogam ninyanamalah”
Srila Prabhupada speaks this in literally every Hindi class(new). By Krishna’s mercy and search button in prahupadabooks.com I found what the actual verse is
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
mayy āsakta-manāḥ pārtha
yogaṁ yuñjan mad-āśrayaḥ“Now hear, O son of Pṛthā [Arjuna], how by practicing yoga in full consciousness of Me, with mind attached to Me, you can know Me in full, free from doubt.”(Bg 7.1).
Thus it is a very important verse,as you said.
Anyway i heard new Hindi class 7. Srila Prabhupada talks about karmis and their mentality of sense enjoyment 24 hours a day, whereas they would not even spend a single millisecond for Krishna consciousness, citing that they are too busy. Infact the karmis by whom I am always surrounded exactly fit the description given by Srila Prabhupada. I would try to find the exact verse on which Srila Prabhupada is speaking about as soon as possible.
Kindly bless me so that I get the determination and strength to face the many obstacles in the path of Krishna consciousness.

A few doubts in SB.
1. Is Dhruva loka eternal or is it dissolved during complete dissolution?2. I read in SB 4.22 that Ravana’s kingdom was in Brazil. However Lord Rama lived in Ayodhya and he also built a bridge from Ayodhya to Lanka, So how is it possilbe that Ravan lived in Brazil?

All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Sri Krishna on this auspicious day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi.
After going through some of these new classes I found that:
new Hindi Class 8(first) +new Hindi class 6(next) = Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30Following are the timings when the same words are repeated
new Hindi Class 8 Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30
5:00(there is Jaya Radha Madhava) 0:25(there is no Jaya Radha Madhava)15:44 10:08
17:37 11:48new Hindi class 6 Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30
0:05 12:23
20:57 31:05Everything looks fine but there is a slight variation between the time gaps after which the same word is said. For example in new Hindi class 6, a particular word comes after a gap of 20 min 52 sec. However the time gap between the same two phrases of words in “Hindi Bg 7.2 Vrindavan 1973-10-30 ” is less than 19 min.
In other words in either of the audio recordings, there may either be some addition or some subtraction. Therefore, it is my humble request that you look into whether either of the videos and somehow check if there is some addition or subtraction. It may also be possible that I am wrong, I am not sure.
I will try to get some idea of the other recordings as soon as possible. Kindly lend me your further guidance so that I can do some service to Srila Prabhupada. By the way Srila Prabhupada’s Hindi lectures are superb!!!!!

I went through new Hindi class 2. It is also on SB 1.2.6 verse
sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharma
yato bhaktir adhokṣaje
ahaituky apratihatā
yayātmā suprasīdatiHowever I later checked with one lecture on the same verse and found that the first 30 min 15 sec of ” SB 1.2.6 Calcutta 1975-03-21.mp3 ” corresponds with new Hindi class 2.
Thus New Hindi Class 2.mp3 is a repetion of Hindi ” SB 1.2.6 Calcutta 1975-03-21.mp3 ” .As you said, this class(class 2) is a repeated one.
I am also waiting for a reply on the doubt I had asked in the previous post about the verse
” mayyah sattanamm asvasam yogam ninyanamalah “(in which book?)Hare Krishna. AGTSP

Guruji,
” mayyah sattanamm asvasam yogam ninyanamalah ”
Srila Prabhupada has spoken this verse twice, once in new class 8 and once in new Hindi class 5. Could you tell me from which book this verse appears as I was unable to find the source of this verse?(The spelling or words may not be exactly same but more or less similar)
After knowing the source, I may be able to tell on which book Srila Prabhupada is speaking.
Anyway, in new Hindi class 8 Srila Prabhupada talks about Bhakti-Yoga and how to make progress in it(eg.sadhu-sanga) and what are the sins we should avoid.
Eagerly waiting for your reply.

have a lot to tell about new hindi class 3.
New Hindi class 3 is on SB 1.2.6 where Srila Prabhupada talks about parodharm. However I later checked with one lecture on the same verse and found that 11:53 of this lecture corresponds with the last 11 mins 53 sec of the lecture “”Hindi SB 1.2.6 Calcutta 1975-03-21.mp3 “”.
So as you have said this class is a repeated one. However we must note that after 11:53 of class 3, Srila Prabhupada gives another lecture for 4 min 17 sec. So somehow the ending part of “”Hindi SB 1.2.6 Calcutta 1975-03-21.mp3 “” has been clubbed with another lecture where Srila Prabhupada talks about impersonalism and compares it with sunglobe, sunshine, sunrays, etc. Unfortunately, as the lecture is very short, it is hard to trace which verse Srila Prabhupada is exactly talking about. But it is for sure that the topic is impersonalism.
I will try to find what the remaining lectures are about as soon as possible. Kindly give me further instructions so that I can serve Srila Prabhupada as much as possible though the fact is that howmuchever service I do, I will never reach the level of service you have done.

I have made an attempt to translate New Hindi Class 3 so that you can get an idea of what Srila Prabhupada is speaking.Translation for first 2:50 mins. After reading this, kindly instruct me on what I should do further.
Note: I have left blanks at places where I was unable to translate.
New Hindi class 3 Translation
Curious.intelligent,——–,———, these people worship the Lord, go to the lord to attain something such people have been called in the shastras (sanskrit verse containing sukrutin) . They go to the Lord and ask something which is their foolishness even then it is (). And one who never approaches the Lord, he is called duskritin. That is called sukritin.
But one never approaches the Lord for any reason, he is called
duskritin. Mahapaapi(very sinful).Duskritin.Kriti means one who does
good work. Kriti means medha—-, that is intelligent. One who uses his
knowledge for nefarious/sinful purposes, he is called duskritin. And
one who uses his intelligence for good/pious purpose, he is called
sukritin. Whenever sukritin approaches the Lord to ask something,
eventhough he is not a pure devotee, he is called sukriti (baan). And
one who never approaches the Lord ,one who never believes in God, he
is called duskritin .(sanskrit verse containing the word
mudhah). So a duskritin has also been given another name- mudhah.
Mudhah means ass/donkey.(sanskrit verse containing the word mudhah
and naradham) So he is also called naradham(meaning of naradham)————————– (sanskrit verse) which means one
whose knowledge has been destroyed by maya.(san verse)So if he want
to attain happiness, (san verse)if we want to make the soul happy,
than we have to follow this (instruction). And what is it? It is
parodharm. Not materialism. Not voidism.Not——- It is bhagvata
dharm.— God is there, God is master, we are His servants, and how He
has ordered us, that we should follow. This is called dharm. Other
than this, all that we consider dharm is not dharm, it is atheism.
Nothing else. Shastras have said that(Sans verse dharma projita hoitava )to be continued……………………………………………..

Whatever Happened to the Hare Krishnas? TV Show 2013
After seeing the above video, I have some doubts.
1. How did the devotees fall down so drastically? The way they dress is totally materialistic.
And are we all prone to such fall down as well?2. According to Srila Prabhupada, is it ok for women to work in offices, schools and other places? Or is it a must that women must serve men as wives(nowadays it seems very difficult)?
I would be very thankful to you for clearing my doubts,

Solar Eclipses are not Caused by the Moon
In Caitanya caritamrta Adi 5.98 I came across this
After filling half the universe with water, He made His own residence therein and manifested the fourteen worlds in the other half.
PURPORT
The fourteen worlds are enumerated in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Second Canto, Fifth Chapter. The upper planetary systems are (1) Bhū, (2) Bhuvar, (3) Svar, (4) Mahar, (5) Janas, (6) Tapas and (7) Satya. The seven lower planetary systems are (1) Tala, (2) Atala, (3) Vitala, (4) Nitala, (5) Talātala, (6) Mahātala and (7) Sutala. The lower planets, as a whole, are called Pātāla. Among the upper planetary systems, Bhū, Bhuvar and Svar constitute Svargaloka, and the rest are called Martya. The entire universe is thus known as Triloka. The gayatri mantra says om bhur bhuvah svah so can we assume that the sunshine spreads only till svar loka and the planetary systems above svar like mahar, janas etc do not depend on sulight???
Actually I had never realised that there is so much information of the universe in the Caitanya Caritamrta in so many of the verses. It is really wonderful!!!!

Yes you were right. This model of mine was overpowered by mental speculation. It is not very much based on the SB. So I am sorry for wasting your time but hopefully the next time I write something I would not be speculating. The pictures are a total waste and do not explain anything honestly speaking so I would not send them. The verse in the ninth canto is SB 9.16.24
TRANSLATION
Thus Jamadagni, being worshiped by Lord Paraśurāma, was brought back to life with full remembrance, and he became one of the seven sages in the group of seven stars.
PURPORT
The seven stars revolving around the polestar at the zenith are called saptarṣi-maṇḍala. On these seven stars, which form the topmost part of our planetary system, reside seven sages: Kaśyapa, Atri, Vasiṣṭha, Viśvāmitra, Gautama, Jamadagni and Bharadvāja. These seven stars are seen every night, and they each make a complete orbit around the polestar within twenty-four hours. Along with these seven stars, all the others stars also orbit from east to west. The upper portion of the universe is called the north, and the lower portion is called the south. Even in our ordinary dealings, while studying a map, we regard the upper portion of the map as north.I think this verse is very useful.

I think that by Srila Prabhupada’s and Krishna’s mercy, I have got a fairly good idea of how the universe is working. In this comment, I would like to limit my discussion to Jambudvipa, sun and the moon…………………………….
In the 9th canto, it is given that the upper part of the universe is North and the lower part of the universe is South. So from this I got a clue of what the Northern and southern course of the sun is.
Now let us consider the sun which is 1 lakh yojanas above Jambudvipa. Every day the sun completes one revolution around the sumeru mountain i.e.on the Manasottara mountain. This causes
the day and night at every place( of course the sumeru mountain plays an important role in causing night). But it is the internal motion of the sun which causes most of the other phenomenon. Now for the sake of understanding let us assume that the kala cakra is made stationary. At some point(i.e at the intersection of Saggitauras and capricon) it is at its lowest point( longest night). From that point it starts going upwards and thus its Northern course starts. At this point in the upper heavenly planets, night is almost over and sunrise starts. Now it is to be noted here that the internal motion of the sun is not only vertical. While moving upwards, it also moves starts moving horizontally from one zodiac sign to another.(now here I am taking the kala cakra to be horizontal). In the beginning of its northeen course, the horizontal movement is responsible for the sum moving into saggitaurus.
So the sun’s internal/own movement consist of both horizontal movement( in the anticlockwise direction) and obviously the vertical movement. Withing 3 months it would have moved halfway vertically upwards and horizontally 3 signs anticlockwise into Aries. For us it is the time of spring equinox(march 20). In another 3 months, it reaches its highest point vertically and horizontally it would be situated at the conjunction of Gemini and cancer. This is the day of summer solstice(June 20-22). It is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere and shortest day in the southern hemisphere. Now what is very very interesting is that this is the very day the sun is at the farthest point from Earth. Now scientists say that aphelion the day when the sun is at the farthest point from Earth is July 4. Now ignoring the faulty instuments of the scientists, we can safely conclude that the summer solstice and aphelion occur on the same day. Or even if not on the same day, on very close days, as scientists themselves as said. Infact in many websites I read that dates of summer solstice and aphelion being so close to each other is a “coincidence” as scientists have a totally different model of rotating Earth which probably cannot explain that. But the internal movement of the Sun in the Bhagvatam beautifully explains this. So this something for all the devotees to cheer about. Hare Krishna!!! So the Bhagvatam has already scored one point over the modern structure. Back to the discussion, this point of summer solstice is also the time of noon in the heavenly planets. Now the sun starts its southern course that is it starts moving vertically downwards and obviously it continuous to move horizontally in the anti clockwise direction(i.e it moves into Cancer). Within 3 months is again comes to its vertical midpoint and horizontally into Libra. This would be the time of autumnal equinox In another 3 months( night for the heavenly planets) it would be at its lowest point. That is the time of winter solstice December 23. Once again quite obviously perihelion occurs on January 3, surely not a “coincidence”. So this yearly movement continuous year after year by the will of Krishna. Now along with the internal movement the Kala cakra(which we assumed stationary) is also moving causing day and night. But the length of day and night vary as when the sun is in the Northern course i.e higher up, it moves slower during day and faster doing night and vice versa in the southern course. From this model we also note that during summer in the Northern hemisphere the sun is higher in the sky and during winter the sun is lower in the sky. In the southern hemisphere during summer the sun is lower in the sky and during winter the sun is higher. Now since you live in the southern hemisphere, could you confirm that sun is lower in the sky during summer there? As far as the moon is concerned, it is two lakh yojanas above the sun. Its internal motion is similar to the sun only that it completes it entire rotation in the anticlockwise direction in one month versus
the one year taken by the sun. When it is in the same zodiac as that of the sun, it is newmoon. Rahu may come or may not come, but if it comes it causes a partial or total solar eclipse depending on whether it moves in a curly or straight manner. When the moon is in the opposite zodiac it is full moon. When moon is in any of the intermediate signs , it displays its different phases. This is a brief overwiew of the moon. One thing be noted is that although the moon’s internal movement is much greater than that of the sun, during the course of a day the relative positions of the sun and the moon do not change much. That is why all the parts of the world get to see the same phase of the moon on a particular night although night occurs at different times at different parts of the world. So once again it is the internal movement of the sun and the moon and their relative postion which causes the phases the kala cakra only plays the role of “displaying” this relative position to the entire world.
Of course I have some more points to add on this structure but I feel the comment has already become too lengthy so I will post in some other day. Meanwhile could you tell me whether my description matches atleast till some extent with that of the Bhagvatam? I strongly feel it does. I do also feel that there is more to the sun’s horizontal movement than I can explain at present. Anyway one of my good artist friends as made some nice drawings of these things. Could I have your permission to send the scanned copies of these pictures to your email.Pictures do speak a thousand words.

It took me quite some to comprehend what you had said but I think I have finally got atleast something .Infact one of my friends, a good artist, is drawing a picture of kala chakra, sisumara etc and once it is done I would like to scan and upload the picture so that you can tell me whether I have got the right idea.
Meanwhile I have a few questions
1. Suppose, we flatten our spherical Earth and consider it to be Jambudvipa. Then is it right to consider that when it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere, the Kala chakra is tilted more and when it is summer in the southern hemisphere the kala cakra is tilted less?2. I came across a website
http://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast161/Unit2/seasons.htmlEverthing is utter nonsense except a small part under the headings equinox, summer solstice, winter solstice. Assuming it to be purely based on observation, would it be fair to assume that when the sun is on the upper part of the tilted kala cakra it moves slower and the part below it is experiencing summer and when on the lower part of the kala cakra it is moving faster and the part below it experiencing winter???Or is it the other way round?
3. As far as the size of Rahu is concerned from SB 5.24.2 I crosschecked and found that the size of Rahu to be 30000. But there is no doubt that Rahu causes the eclipse. So what could be the possible explanation?
4. What phenomenon does the internal movement of the sun cause(i.e in the direction opposite to that of Kala cakra)?
As far as Earth is flat and not a sphere even I am convinced of it. Infact every argument of the scientist has a suitable counter argument.(my argument in bracket)
1.The earth throws a circular shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse.(Rahu not Earth)
2.It is possible to circumnavigate the world; that is, to travel around the world and return to where you started( That could be done even if Earth were a circle)Infact all other phenomenon could be explained using movement of kala cakra, samvartaka wheel and sumeru mountain. Infact wikipedia gives the last proof of a spherical Earth as “The earth appears as a disc on photographs taken from space, regardless of the vantage point”(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spherical_Earth#Summary_of_evidence_for_a_spherical_earth)
Also in another article it has been speculated by some flat earth society that the Earth is exactly as you have described. The image is

A few more questions……….
1.It is given that lunar year is 6 days short of calender year and solar calender is 6 days more than calender year. Is is correct that: lunar year: 354 days and solar year 366 days.
2.An eclipse occurs during a full moon or a new moon. Is it correct to say that during solar ecclipse both moon and sun are in the same zodiac whereas during lunar ecclipse they are in opposite zodiacs?
3.From the sun’s movement we know that longest day is the first day when sun enters Cancer. We also know that during the Northern course of sun duration of daytime increases by half an hour each month. Using these calculations, I found that the longest day has a duration of 13.5 hours and shortest day has a duration of 10.5 hours. However I think there are someplaces on Earth which on certain days have 24 hours daytime. How do we explain that?
4. The moon in one day travels distance travelled by the sun in 1 fortnight. In 2.25 days it travels the distance travelled by the sun in one month, Somewhere else in the purports it is given that according to stellar calculations, one month of the sun is equal to 2.25 constellation. It is also given that the moon travels through a distance of one constellation in one day. SO everthing matches…….. but how day does one month of sun have? And what is the relation between one day of sun and one day of moon??
5. Is Rahu bigger than the moon because it is given that Rahu is 30000 yojanas big wheras moon is 20000 yoj(sun 10000)
6.Am I correct in saying that the Bhu mandala plane blocks light to subterrenean heavenly planets i.e. only eveything above Bhu(bhuvar and svah) including bhu receive sunlight?
Sorry for harassing you.

A few doubts……………..
1. As far a I understood, sun revolves around Sumeru on manasottara at a distance of 157.5 lakh yojanas from sumeru. But everyday we feel as if the sun is directly overhead us. And also if we go to a beach we can see the sun touching the horizon. Whereas as far I know, I have never seen the moon or any other star touching horizon.Maybe I am incorrect. Anyway, could you put some light on the sun’s vertical movement(which makes it appear to rise and set and overhead us)2.It is given that the sun divides the sky into two ayanas. Northern course is uttarayana and Southern course is Dakshinaya. Is is fair to assume that the Northern , southern hemispheres and equator we are taking about is moving along with the kala cakra. And what is an ayana ?
3. In a letter to Madhava on 1976 3rd October,””Some portion of the earth is flat. When you stand in any place you see flat, so for us to some extent it appears flat, but it is round.””. Also we have seen the picture of Varaha carrying a round earth. But from SB, we know that Jambudvipa is round like a lotus leaf. So where exactly does Earth become a sphere?

By Srila Prabhupada’s Krishna’s mercy gradually some parts of the mysteries of the universe are gradually getting revealed. For example I could just not understand how the sun could move both in the clockwise and anticlockwise directions at the same time. After reading the crystal clear purports, I understood that the sun is moving along with the kala cakra in the clockwise direction and completing one revolution a day. Now, assuming the Kala Cakra to be stationary, the sun is moving in the anticlockwise direction, travelling through one zodiac in one month. SO the actual movement of the sun is a combination of movement due to Kala Cakra and its own relative motion w.r.t Kala Cakra in opposite direction……………
Now I have one problem. I have never done animation before and now although I am learning blender from a tutorial(Noob to pro) I am as of now still finding it difficult to do even simple animations. I really wonder whether I would ever be able to animate such a complex system. So shall I continue with my animation and pray Krishna to give me the strength to do it or shall I stop it? I would do exactly as you say.

I would like to start modelling a structure according to map 1. A few questions follow
1.Am I right that Jambudvipa is at the bottom and Sumeru mountain is inverted with its tip a Jambudvipa?
2. What are the relative positons of Mount Sumeru and Mt Manosattara, where exactly is the base of Manosattara.
3. I saw the video about the universe which you have given above. Till what extent is it correct and what are the mistakes in it….
The task is very challenging and we are totally dependent on Prabhupada’s mercy.

Prasadam — What is it and why we should not eat anything else.
Hare Krishna!
Is it sinful to throw sinful food? I mean can we throw food prepared by my mother? So is it sinful to eat it as well as throw it? Even the dog is not ready to eat it. So the only option left is- either we throw it or eat it. My mother does not let me enter the kitchen since she knows I want to prepare prasadam. Thus is it sinful to throw food that is not prasadam?

Thank You.

Very Difficult times for new Bhaktas…
Hare Krishna Avikam,
Please read Madhudvisa dasa ji’s comment first, then this.
Actually I have undertaken a project of constructing the structure of the universe according to the Srimad Bhagvatam. This is a huge project and requires a few intelligent people are have a good sense of understanding and a good knowledge of computers.
Since you spend 1-2 hours on computer I request that you learn blender so that you can also join this team to construct the universe. Even I am spending 2 hours on computer, 1 hour to read canto 5 of the Bhagavatam to understand the universe and the other hour to learn blender from wiki Blender Noob to Pro document. By the way Blender is one of the popular softwares for even creating the games you play. SO learning it (that too for serving Srila Prabhupada) is 1000 times more interesting than the game itself, I assure you.
By the way as this project progresses, we would require a great labour force. So if you could join us right from the beginning it would be of great help to us and a great engagement to you.
For more info please read this comment.

Guruji,
I have started chanting 16 rounds for 3-4 days a week and 9-13 rounds the remaining days. Of course it is more like austerity even then I like it. However I have a few problems.I am quite thin and my parents want me to get fatter so they keep on pestering me to eat egg and fish and more of everything and go to gym. I have somehow escaped from fish but egg is forced. As a result, I am unable to follow the four regulative principles(no meat eating). But I am helpless.
I want to protest but chanting has already made my parents a bit angry. They do not show it but as you said, I do not want to agitate them further. So what should I do?

Guruji,
As I am progressing more and more in Bhakti yoga, I am finding maya’s attack to be stronger and stronger. Sometimes, in some conversation of Srila Prabhupada, I feel Srila Prabhupada should have spoken something else instead of what he had spoken. Sometimes, unknowingly I think of imitating Vaisnava Acharyas like Haridas Thakura. In these ways, many times I am thinking that I am greater than or equal to such magnanimous Vaisnava acharyas. I am very much afraid of this madness as such thoughts are even worse than suicide.
Therefore, guruji, could you tell me some remedy to cure myself of this madness and remove such low grade thoughts?
Could you also tell me the secret behind increasing my faith in the words of my spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada?Hare Krishna.AGTSP

Guruji,
On your advice I increased my chanting and now I chant 10-12 rounds. My aim is to come to the stage of 16 rounds very soon. The biggest obstacle is my father’s fury which I hope I can soon overcome. My biggest problem now is my school, which is filled with maya to the brim. Very unfortunately, all my friends(aged 15 to 16) are very much addicted to sex. They talk about sex and woman literally all the time. Ironically almost all the students are sex-minded and the only difference is between who is more addicted and who is less. Moreover, they talk about such nonsense so loudly that I am forced to hear it. Listening to such sex talks six hours a day has a very detrimental effect on me, but it seems as if there is no other choice.
The biggest problem is that all schools are similarly hopeless. I avoid their association as far as possible and chant Hare Krishna whenever I have free time. However, sometimes maya makes me totally helpless and I am forced to hear.Guruji is there some way I can overcome this?
Eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hare krishna Prabhuji.,Dandvat Pranaam
May i know about the author of the book”Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita As It Is” named mukund das prabhu.Had he any personal association with Srila Prabhupada.
This book is a compilation of direct quotes from Srila Prabhupada speaking about his own life. The author is Srila Prabhuapda, all Mukunda did was compile the quotes and he did a good job of it. He wrote a bit of rubbish on the last 2 pages but apart from that he did not write a single word in the book. It is a collection of Prabhupada quotes and the author of this book is Srila Prabhuapda.
Prabhu Madhudvisa Dasa.Is Jagannath Krishna himself or is just an expansion of Krishna like Vishnu,Rama etc.In Iskcon lectures I heard that Jagannath is Krishna himself, they have proved this by saying a story from Skanda purana. Is this true or Iskcon lectures are just bogus?I found no video Prabhupad talking aboyt Lord Jagannath.Oh Prabhu kindly answer my doubts.Hare Krishna
Yes. Lord Jagannatah is Krishna Himself. It is Jagannatha [Krishna] Balarama and Krishna’s sister Subhadra.
So Jagannatha is deity form of Krishna. He is representation of Krishna with His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra,
It is deity manifestation of Krishna, Balarama and Lady Subhadra,
Jai Govind
I request you clear my doubts.I understand the complexities of life processes, cellular mechanisms and other natural phenomenon cannot be explained solely by reasoning and scientific theories as somewhere or other our knowledge is limited.I am a science student nd nature lover. After reading the article posted by you regarding the concept of the origin of life,a question arisen in my mind that krishna is all powerful, then, why he designed this universe in this complicated way?,why life originated? why he made all that dna etc matter space?what is his true nature? why are we given these bodies these reasoning abilities?why krishna waited for billions of years and made us take birth here?why prakrati and purush got seperated? who were those dinosaurs etc for souls are eternal were those dinosaurs primitive and other organisms we only? are there any planet lest earth having life?why will happen atlast for we are ultimately destined to reach our eternal govind? why doesn’t he appears now and clear all these doubts for one thing is sure that if even he messages in some ways we will submit to him?why krishna is so naughty why has he made everything complicated?I know these are childlish questions but still worthy to be answered…..
I am a krishana devotee.I feel as if there is pure love for him deep in my heart. But at the same time I do believe in science.Sometimes i find myself stuck in between science emotions belief and devotion.I want to understand my Govind,I want to understand myself.
I request my friends to please give answer to these questions.I hope i will get atleast answers of a few questions as i found this site quite appealing.
thankyou!
Radhe krishna
Hare Krishna Jai Govind
To clear your doubts you have to become Krishna conscious. Because unless you become Krishna conscious you will not be able to understand what Krishna consciousness is and you will remain continually bewildered.
All these questions are irrelevant. You seem to accept that Govinda exists, that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Now you have to just surrender to the idea that you are His servant. And then you need to find out practically how you can engage in the service of Krishna. And to find out how to do this you need to read Srila Prabhupada’s books. And in the process of becoming Krishna conscious all your other questions will automatically be answered.
The scientists can not understand anything. They only have very fragmental information about everything they study. The information we can gather through our material senses is very limited. There are so many things we can not perceive through our material senses. So they can not understand what they can not perceive.
So instead of just speculating all these questions and being bewildered like this it is better to just admit that in our conditioned state with our very limited mind and our material senses we can not hope to understand Krishna or even this material world which is created ultimately by Krishna.
The way to understand these things is to become Krishna conscious. We can not understand without becoming Krishna conscious.
So you have to learn how to become Krishna conscious… That is the answer to all your questions. And Krishna consciousness is a science and that science is very elaborately presented in the books of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!
