We all want to be happy(or satisfied) in one way or another ; in nectar of devotion it is stated : (From Chapter 1)
Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī has analyzed the different sources of happiness. He has divided happiness into three categories, which are: 1) happiness derived from material enjoyment, 2) happiness derived by identifying oneself with the Supreme Brahman and 3) happiness derived from Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī says that if brahmānanda, or the happiness of becoming one with the Supreme, is multiplied by one trillionfold, still it cannot be compared with an atomic fraction of the happiness derived from the ocean of devotional service.
In the Nārada-pañcarātra it is also said that any person who has developed even a small amount of devotional service doesn’t care a fig for any kind of happiness derived from religiousness, economic development, sense gratification, or the five kinds of liberation.
See the word “small’ has great significance here.
“You Must First Be Gentle”
September 18, 1972, Los Angeles
So Lord Siva was in meditation, naked, and Parvati was induced to worship Lord Siva and touch the genital. But Lord Siva still was undisturbed. So at that time, Kalidasa Kavi, that “Here is the example of dhira. He is so much absorbed in meditation that a young girl, touching the genital, still, he is undisturbed. He is so self-controlled.”
This is a example of a pure devotee a completely self realized person in all three aspects of god.
Of course we should not try to imitate such unimaginably great personality but this shows the potency of a pure devotional service.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
This is so true.
This also explains the misconception mayavadis have they assume Krishna is material , hence they cannot proceed further in spiritual development , as they never get any mercy from the lotus feet of Supreme lord Krishna or a pure devotee.
So mayavadis are able to realise only the Brahman and Super soul aspect , unlike devotees who realise all three aspects ;the above two and the Absolute Supreme Person feature (which is the origin of other two aspects also and is permanent unlike the former two which manifest only when the material world is manifest)
Remember partial knowledge is more dangerous than complete ignorance.
Another problem is that mental speculation cannot perceive the absolute supreme person feature neither being situated in mode of goodness can ;
As stated in this article Krishna can be only be known through Devotional service hence as stated by Srila Prabhupada sun will rise only when it is supposed to rise ; Just be sincere in devotional service that is more than enough.

I am writing this because there is virtually no one around me who would listen to me without thinking I am insane.
This material world is a place of illusion.
Even if you gain something you are bound to lose it one day hence the moment you gain something you are bound to suffer when you lose it , also there is the anxiety knowing you will lose anything and everything as everything is temporary.
Sense gratification detoriates one’s position in the material world from demigod to human to millions and millions of lives in hell.
It’s not worth it.
This sense gratification is not worth it and once you are in it then there is probably no escape for millions and trillions of births as our consciousness also gets covered with tamo and rajo gun(a) hence we lose the opportunity to escape from this insanity unless we somehow get spiritually uplifted along with krishna’s mercy(via pure devotee or otherwise)
Maharaja parikshit a great devotee and a great ruler did not kill Kali despite it having all the bad qualities only because he knew that this age is the age where anyone can be spiritually uplifted just chanting and then executing devotional service to obtain the highest spiritual platform.

Its a lot more than 10000 Years old, the vedic knowledge infact in its essence is immortal(beyond the manifested)
So its basically passed down through the beginning of the universe originating from Krishna from our perception of time.

Earth isn’t a sphere, it’s elliptical in shape so light is going to reflect back also due to irregular surface it is indeed going reflect back in all directions

I just want to say anyone wanting to advance in KC must not mix the bad mundane stuff like impiousness and sense gratification with bhakti, if you do so you’ll be misguided easily, its like mixing poison in milk.
However discharging your duty and other pious activities in the sense of renunciation towards self/devoted(or devoting result) towards Krishna are completely fine.
Its nothing new that I am saying of course but its something that I always overlooked and wanted to say it in case someone is helped by this.

“Prabhupāda: Action, just like you are active. You are working, you all Kṛṣṇa conscious devotees, you are also working. You are not sitting idly, but it is inaction. Inaction in this sense that it is not producing any reaction. It has no reaction. But others, those who are not acting in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, they are also busy but they are producing their reaction. So things which are not producing reaction, that is inaction. One who can see that “I am acting in this way, there is no reaction,” that is inaction. And one who sees that “I am doing this but there is reaction,” that is action. So it requires little intelligence to see how it is action or inaction. Therefore it is said that one who can see action in inaction and inaction in action, he is intelligent.”

Hare krishna prabhu
I have a doubt if you don’t mind answering then may I ask
“illuminated by the brahmajyoti, the rays emanating from the Supreme Lord.”
Means the spiritual world is illuminated by effulgence coming from krishna only?
I was under the impression that everything in the spiritual world is effilgent , so everything in spiritual world is responsible for this effulgence and krishna is the Supreme Lord of course.

Any type of material suffering becomes separation from Krishna which is really heavy but very blissful and purifying ultimately.
» Posted By Namesake On January 9, 2018 @ 8:46 am
I would like to say something as I have experienced something similar too.
Suffering purifies a devotee I am saying this because I have seen myself chanting Hare krishna more and more when I am suffering as I am not a pure devotee.
So try to take suffering as something that purifies you not something against your practice.
Advanced devotees see mercy in suffering that is their greatness , so let’s follow their and continue practicing and spreading this invaluable gift which is possible to achieve only after so many births.

AI can only imitate, it lacks the principles or motives of a human being this would be seen when AI is given a complex task which involves human life at a very complex level say running a city it cannot account for human motives or principles or the basic symptoms of spirit soul which are present even in the conditioned living beings.
Its just like demons who imitate vaishnavs they maybe proficient in all the scriptural memory wise but they lack the principle or motive to use it correctly; they misuse it similarly here the AI won’t misuse it rather it will lack it; AI cannot imitate a higher level of intelligence which is present in subtle terms and it also lacks a mind and false ego, most importantly spirit soul to have any motives so its just a limited emulation for gross activities.
» Posted By Namesake On January 10, 2018 @ 6:57 am
You are just trying imitate a particular part of human consciousness that’s all, nothing new is being invented under the sun.
» Posted By Namesake On January 10, 2018 @ 6:41 am
Hare Krishna Prabhu
You said something that was bothering me:
“And intelligence is not a function of the mind, it is a function of the spirit soul.”
As i understand the philosophy of material elements accepted by vaishnav acaryas and prabhupada propounds that intelligence is a material element or more precisely a component of subtle body actually so it should have nothing to do with spirit soul at all, the spirit soul is sat cid anand and completely different in nature compared to any material elements whether it be subtle or gross elements.
Also AI is actually able to emulate the intelligence of a person very very well but again its just emulating and has no elements of mind and false ego for it to actually function on its own(not to mention a spirit soul), so it will be limited to very gross mundane tasks(that too after training it very much) the differences will be actually seen when AI has to do tasks which need to emulate all aspects of human in complete which would be impossible solely due to the fact that it will lack requires subtle elements in full, for example it shouldn’t be able to perform any system of yoga on its own or reach conclusions in such a manner, in the end its an emulation of certain aspect humans but due to poor fund of knowledge(about workings of material world) of these scientists they cannot actually understand this.

Shiva is also known as ashutosh someone who is very easy to please he does not see if the boon he is granting is ultimately good for the spirit soul or not thats why all the demons worship him besides he is the most powerful being who is still in contact with maha-maya directly in the entire universe so that’s why those who are heavily under material modes are nature worship him.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
These are dualities of material world , in western countries feminism is on the rise whereas in India the perverted version of the real system is.In Indian women are treated very badly (i live here and have female members in my family too, especially in past 10 years it has grown a LOT) as most of the population have absolutely no idea what the aim of life is …all they see is sense gratification. The main aim is same:sense gratification but it has different reactions in both the places (feminism and perversion of correct system ) well the only solution is dividing society into 4 classes and … everything is there in the gold mine left behind by Srila Prabhupada (the transcendental literature I mean) but who cares right? Unless one surrenders to Krishna there is no permanent solution to anything…this or that does not matter.

Hare Krishna Madhudvisa Prabhu
After reading my comment again , i think i tried to include some of my ‘speculative knowledge’.
My sincere apologies for that , i will try to be more careful next time , my apologies again for that alas i am as ignorant as a human can be.
Yes the main point remains that this is just one of their ‘theories’ which…..well change everyday but the path to perfection is already provided to the devotees. (like you said)

All glories to Srila Prabhupadat
They cannot understand things of this material world without understanding the other aspect of this world ; the subtle science and for that they will have to take help from scriptures otherwise only by studying at gross level they will be left baffled.
Well after reaching that level they will ask what is the source of material world then? As they can experience only the effulgence coming from spiritual planets and the superosul they will conclude : this must be it and this will go on and on , they will be played with by maha-maya , leaving them baffled yet again but once they reach to the platform of bhakti they will understand that krishna is the actual source of even those two things.
Be sincere with your devotional service and follow regulative principals.

Hare Krishna prabhu
This is the age of kali the age of hippocracy but a devotee is always purified by the grace of Krishna through his spititual master.
In india such ” babas and acaryas” are on the rise even the present government supports impersonal theory and preaches gymnastics (or so they say “yoga”) through it well I guess it is just the karma of the land.
But the main problem with impersonal god is that it says that god is impersonal which means he has no personality or any desires that implies their impersonal god is desireless and without any desires there would be no action from ‘god’ and without any cause there would be no reaction and none of these worlds would ever be manifested which has more implications :
That being is not god as he was not our supreme cause and then what is the supreme cause then? It has to be personal with some desire otherwise these reactions would not exist.Remember the word desire has been stereotyped by impersonalists to be materialistic when in fact the material desires are perverted reflection of spiritual world ; not the other way around.
Srila Prabhupada compared desires of material and spiritual desires as iron and gold in one of his purports. Clearly impersonalists are on poor fund of knowledge when they think everything came out of that desireless being when in fact nothing can come out of it logically.
(This comment was just for helping devotees preach more as they will have to confront impersonalists at one point or another as the present world is full of them)
Remember be sincere in devotion service and follow regulative principals , then Krishna will help you complete his(chaitanya mahaprabhu’s) mission of preaching.
Your humble servant

>These days women are getting exploited even after having brothers , husband and father.
That goes to show how fallen men have become these days; lower than shudras and a slave to their senses.
>Even draupadi who was very chaste got exploited by other men in front of her husbands . Only lord shrew Krishna is the true protector
Yes lord Krishna is the true protector and by the original instructions given by him husband has to protect and look after their female relatives in the given order.

In one occurrence Narada Muni by his great mystic power brought back a dead child who was poisoned by his father’s envious queens (i do not remember the specific source for that , sorry ) for a short amount of time.
So it is possible to do that by mystic power but it all comes down to the purpose of such a action ,Narada Muni need less to say is a very great pure devotee and a great spiritual master too so he was acting on behalf of supreme personality of godhead.
In the end such things will not put a end to the sufferings of material world only pure devotional service can make us actually happy.
And great mystic power does not mean you become god as there is only one supreme mystic ; Sri Krishna who is known as Yogesvara.

This is only possible if that living entity has the right karma to enter that particular body , which would defeat the entire purpose of controlling material nature right?
For this to happen one has to defy the authority of demigods , as demigods control such doings but even then what is the use ?
If one is actually able to outpower demigods (which is indeed very rare occurrence in the first place , what to say of such weak people in this Kali yuga?) ultimately they get defeated by supreme lord in one way or other (read srimad bhagvatam )
So let’s not chew the chewed and move on.

I find this relevant to the article as it also signifies our present situation:
Thereafter, because of being pulled into the water and fighting for many long years, the elephant became diminished in his mental, physical and sensual strength. The crocodile, on the contrary, being an animal of the water, increased in enthusiasm, physical strength and sensual power.
In the fighting between the elephant and the crocodile, the difference was that although the elephant was extremely powerful, he was in a foreign place, in the water. During one thousand years of fighting, he could not get any food, and under the circumstances his bodily strength diminished, and because his bodily strength diminished, his mind also became weak and his senses less powerful. The crocodile, however, being an animal of the water, had no difficulties. He was getting food and was therefore getting mental strength and sensual encouragement. Thus while the elephant became reduced in strength, the crocodile became more and more powerful. Now, from this we may take the lesson that in our fight with māyā we should not be in a position in which our strength, enthusiasm and senses will be unable to fight vigorously. Our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement has actually declared war against the illusory energy, in which all the living entities are rotting in a false understanding of civilization. The soldiers in this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement must always possess physical strength, enthusiasm and sensual power. To keep themselves fit, they must therefore place themselves in a normal condition of life. What constitutes a normal condition will not be the same for everyone, and therefore there are divisions of varṇāśrama-brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya, vaiśya, śūdra, brahmacarya, gṛhastha, vānaprastha and sannyāsa. Especially in this age, Kali-yuga, it is advised that no one take sannyāsa.

I think if you know god you automatically know everyone else , think of it if you were to know each individual soul! we cannot even imagine knowing all 8 billion people on earth what to say of millions of universes where our universe is one of the smaller ones(3 headed brahama which represents number of (3) lokas) not to mention the fact that srila prabhupada says that more than 90% of spirit souls live in spirtual world!
So watering the root is enough or in other sense knowing god is enough!

I think you misunderstood the meaning of unwanted child , its not unwanted by “you” directly but the consciousness of the child will be unfavorable for any sort spiritual advancement which would ultimately affect the family and society , everyone.
Hence parents would be held responsible for the ruining of their child’s consciousness just because they wanted some sense gratification instead.
