In terms of Lord Krishna having many wives and girlfriends and the persons with poor fund of knowledge misunderstanding this, Srila PRabhupada said in one of the lectures…”Many yogis exercise so much amount of self control, perform so many austerities, take so much pain and take to celibacy simply to experience little brahma sukham or enjoy a fragment of brahma realisation.. and if the Supreme Brahman, Lord Krishna who is the source of that Brahman wants to enjoy HIS pastimes, will HE come down to this material platform of sense gratification?” Point to ponder upon and a very powerful statement by Prabhupada that can shut the mouths of many so called mayavadis who lack the vision to understand Krishna and HIS pastimes

Hare Krishna Prabhu,
I was not promoting or thinking on the lines of the Mayavadi philosophy of mundane social work and the misconception of “service to man is service to God.” I was only expressing the idea of helping the poor and distressed when they approach us. In your article you have not stated this. You have stated that helping the distressed other than feeding them Krishna prasadam is mundane social welfare work and its Karma Kanda. I only intended to mention that to you.. You have misunderstood me that I am promoting some kind of Mayavadi philosophy. I was just seeing the thin line between mundane social work and helping the poor in their necessities as Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati said.. I am very sorry you got me wrong Prabhu. Thanks

Hare krishna Prabhu,
In the biography of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, it was mentioned the following,”during his tour when he and his followers were returning from a darshan of Sakshi Gopala, he noticed that his householder followers refused to give some alms to some poor people who were requesting help. He then sarcastically described their attitude as,”Money should not be given to poor, distressed people.. if it is given it will be karma kanda.” Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur was criticizing the attitude of his disciples who were thinking that it was beneath them as transcendental vaishnavas to give charity to the poor as though this were a continuing activity within the realm of karmic activity.
He stated that this type of consideration by the householder disciples expresses miserliness, and a lack of affliction at other’s distress. From this attitude the heart becomes attacked with niggardliness, and as a result, the tendency to spend money even for Vishnu’s service which is the means for ones own interest disappears. Therefore offence in service(seva-aparadh) is invited. In order to guard against all these hypocritical, sinful deliberations, Sri Gaurasundara in his pastimes, used to give help to the lowly distressed people. Even earned wealth is obtained by the mercy of God. It is not incorrect use of wealth if some portion of mercy is given to the requesting poor people.. it is its proper use!!! Even though poor people have obtained this miserable state through the fault of their karma, they are still God’s people. Therefore, to give them wealth is a compulsory duty of the well to do people.” At the same time it is also stated that,” to think of the poor people as Narayan is only blindness to truth and terrible spiritual offense!!!”
Therefore, Prabhu when you are stating in your articles and comments that we must not help the distressed except by distributing prasadam and chanting hare krishna is little disturbing to me since, as per the words of Bhakti Sidhaantha Saraswati Thakur, I dont think even he suported your argument.. It is rather like a disease of Vaishnav disciple(forgive me if I am too harsh) to avoid helping the needy by giving explanation of this karma kanda. Although I completely agree with you that calling the poor people as Narayan is a great offence, but not serving the needy simply on the basis of karma kanda is merciless on the part of a person.. Thanks.

If demigods are not pure devotees of Lord Krishna, then why Lord Krishna says in Bhagavat Gita that Brahma and Lord Shiva are mahatmas and Mahajan? Mahatma means a pure devotee and Prabhupada says in one of his lectures that mahatmas are very rare and are pure devotees serving Lord Krishna in some capacity as per HIS desire… So how can they have material desires? Its a little bit confusing…Please clarify. Thanks

Hare Krishna Madhudvisa Prabhu,
Also ISKCON has many Mayavadis who have joined as devotees.. During Janmashtami celebrations, this year, thousands of Sai devotees and other Mayavadi followers throng ISKCON. I witnessed a lady saying the philosophy of “YATO MAT TATO PAT” and the ISKCON members supporting it… Moreover recently I also had come across a person who has been preaching Mayavadi Philosophy last 41 years and has been associated with ISKCON for over 32 years.. Just see. They do not believe in Krishna Conscious Philosophy however you try to explain them.. It is really sad!!

Very nice reply Ishan Das… Thank you very much.. I had come across a Mayavadi who misinterpreted a transcendental work of a pure devotee of Lord Krishna. This pure devotee was from Kerala in south India.. His name was Poonthanam Namboodiripath.. He composed the very popular “Njanappana” that is known as Bhagavat Gita in malayalam for the Keralites.. This Njanappana explains Bhagavat Gita in the form of a song and in very simple words.. The beauty of this work is it is giving Bhagavat Gita as it is.. When I discovered that the english translation of this work was filled with examples of Vivekananda and Ramkrishna, I was deeply hurt.. I found that this work was translated by a Mayavadi who comes from the same family of this pure devotee.. It was really shocking… As I found it very offensive I expressed my disappointment through mail to this person.. I tried to convince her about Krishna consciousness and we communicated many times but still it was very difficult to convince.. This person has been writing blogs on mayavadi philosophy for the last 41 years and this philosophy of YATO MAT TATO PAT is really self defeating and saddening…

True Prabhu!! Madhu Pandit recently after receiving the Padma Shree award also had the audacity to misinterpret Srila Prabhupada saying in a television interview that,” Srila Prabhupada wanted a hunger free world.” while in reality PRabhupada never said so… This was MAdhu Pandit’s response on the “akshay Patra” programme… He is indeed a deviant disguised as a follower… Another bogus so-called vaishnav

I was curious to know if Srila PRabhupada had such experiences, whether he discussed it with his disciples or like that.. Nothing else..

Hare Krishna Prabhu,
Just wanted to ask whether the demigods from their abodes come to meet the pure devotees of Lord Krishna.. As a pure devotee is very rarely found and is a bonafide representative and a sincere servant of Lord Krishna without any material attachment, does it not get the attention of aspiring spirit souls or demigods, inhabitants of Satyaloka, Brahmaloka or the great sage, Narada Muni to come and meet the pure devotee wherever they are in the material world? It is known that the pure devotee sometimes experiences disturbances from the evil spirit souls who come and warn the pure devotee. The pure devotee can only see these souls and noone else.. but as he is fixed in krishna consciousness nothing can disturb him.. I just wanted to know whether this actually happens or the experiences of Srila Prabhupada, a perfect devotee of Lord Krishna. Thanks

Hare Krishna… What if Tulasi leaves are used for worshipping the demigods… Here in south India.. they are using tulasi leaves for offering to demigods… and so they request us to supply the leaves from our garden.. how can we deny them… What is the remedy? Even if we try to explain the reason… because they are mayavadis they will not accept and the priest is requesting… What shall be done… Hare Krishna

Dear Madhudvisa Dasa,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.. Just wanted to know how do we comprehend the concept “service to man is service to God.” This concept is very popular nowadays and many people around the world are following this philosophy..Sai devotees and the followers of Vivekananda and Ramakrishna believe in service to society… This concept is very much palatable to the general masses and it is very difficult to convince them that service to God is actually service to man and society.. As Srila Prabhupada said that this so called service to man means service to God philosophy is responsible for making people less God conscious and replacing pure devotional service with service of poor people or daridras whom they consider as “Narayan.” I am never against service but this conception of their’s is not very appealing to me.. My husband is a Sai devotee and he considers that service to man is more important and that if man serves society then God will automatically be pleased by him and HE will reveal himself to such a person.. I never stopped my husband from serving rather I help him in his service activities happily but somehow his philosophy is completely different.. They do believe in naamasankeertan and bhajans but they dont limit it to Krishna, rather they consider Lord Krishna as only an avatar coming from the formless God and all other forms of God same with Lord Krishna and they say whichever God you pray it is the same… It is upto you and all… For them spiritual world is void and no variety.. Prabhupada never supported this… I am trying my best to introduce Prabhupada’s lectures and teachings to my husband like the spiritual world described in vedas and shown beautifully by Prabhupada and his followers.. He is understanding that but still there is resistance on his side.. How to deal with this if you can kindly explain.. Thanks.

Extremely beautiful article… The modern schools and educational institutions especially in India should realize this and understand the importance of Vedic culture instead of blindly following or imitating the western culture in the name of globalization and liberalization… The position of India is actually very pathetic.. having lost her own culture and trying to emulate the materialistic nations which are epitomes of demonism and atheism…
