Hi sorry to interrupt thread .. you always advice 16 rounds from the get go ,I was wondering why you emphasise 16 rounds straight off as other devotees advise building up to 16 over number of months or more Thanks in advance for the clarity ..

Hare Krsna , the introduction to BG as it is by Srila Prabhupada really summarizes the whole process perfectly doesn’t it ?
To remember Krsna always but at same time continue one’s occupation ,How easy !
My question or dilemma is that my occupation, like many peoples in this age is very demanding and stressful with long hours and I find myself very much absorbed in the day to day mundane requirements of my job not to mention the mundane association I have and therefore fail to remember Krsna ! Second simply on a practical level I feel I m lack the time to do 16 rounds a day and read an hour or two a day as you suggest.
Am I just making excuses or being lazy it’s hard to know, should I change my occupation I’ve not wanted to do that so far as Krsna advises Arjuna not to quit . What is your suggestion please ?

sunil u are foolish …dinosaurs aren;t for real …americans can do anything for money and fame so just image how low they would go to create surreal ideads…besides that bridge that was created in the ramayan….it was build for Lord Rama to rescue Sita and destroy Ravana…and that same bridge was destroyed by God himself… just keep in mind the thesis of this discussion my foolish friend….nasa Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka..end of story…

My ask if this is the outline of how things went ‘wrong’ then how should things have continued after Prabhupada’a departure in regard to initiation and guidance etc ? Thanks Nick

I am a real neophyte practitioner of Bhakti yoga and have had and still have these struggles you talk of .
Couple of points come to mind . First ,Reading carefully and slowly Prabhupadas books will give you the strength of purpose for your efforts in Bhakti yoga .Thats a big one , if we don’t understand what we are doing or what’s on offer then why bother right?
Second point is even from a material point of view intoxication is pretty rubbish , hangovers, detoxing comedowns are no fun , but the major detriment to your chances at spiritual life is it erodes your DETERMINATION and ability to perform AUSTERITY. ( like chanting rounds)
Fourth you said you commit further sins from intoxication and that is likely as intoxication enlivens and agitates the senses for wanting further gratification .
Fifth association with other practitioners will help you find some people of like mind to associate with and perhaps you’ll be able to attain the strength to leave the intoxication behind .
I don’t know if it’s my place to comment but just some ideas .

The moon landing may well of been part of the cold war. But there is no religion that can explain the material universe. They are just not sophisticated enough.

Hare Krsna Prabhu . PAMHO,AGTSP
I am really enjoying reading your website.
Although i am in not in any standing as a devotee i can’t quite understand your reply above. How can it be that you are formally initiated but yet you are advising Glenn he shouldn’t take initiation in Iskcon, but just follow instructions in Srila Prabhupadas books, after all isn’t that what you are doing yourself ?
Will it be forever more we shouldn’t take initiation in iskcon ? How can we say infact if someone is pure or not in due course of time. ?
