The Ten Offenses in Chanting the Hare Krishna Mantra

Hare krishna
Sir I am reading prabhupada books and I am chanting mahamantra daily. And theoretically I understand that only krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
But still due to my upbringing I am more inclined to the mayavad philosophy. In this mentality am I eligible or can I worship archa vigrah of lord and also chant…. Thank you…

Does Initiation Make The Maha-Mantra Work?

Hare krishna prabhu!
My question is a little out of context. If someone is a mayavadi and theoretically he accepts krishna to be the god, can he still chant mahamantra and worship his archa vigrah.. Thank you hare krishna

NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka

Who the Hell do you think you are Jason to call Hindu religion as “Foolish Religion”. Your words and language suggest that you are highly influenced by the recently developed western civilization, which 1000 years ago use to be a backward culture. No individual in this world is great enough and big enough to address any religion with these derogative words. Just to let you know dude when people in England use to live in Jungles and hunt for food people in India were using Lavatory and canal system for irrigation. Cities, townships, roads, and brick built houses were common, to say that ancient Indian were having a very developed culture would not be wrong (Please read history to Validate). Now Lets talk about Logic and Science, in India we have 6 dept. of philosophy which are based on Logical Conclusions. We have the most ancient reading on Astrology, Chemistry and Biology. Vedantic Mathematics is as old as Veda itself, which is very advanced and highly respected worldwide. I have gone through other comments and do feel that people don’t have good knowledge about Hinduism. Firstly please do your homework before you start and make comments about any subject or religion. I am a scientific person myself and I do believe in what I see, but that should not mean I become arrogant, judgmental and partial in my view. When Christens came to India and talked about Science they said everything is wrong about Hinduism. While today it’s well know fact how scientific our discipline of medicine and Yoga was and the world is practicing it. We had colleges and Universities in India talking about science and religion even before Christ took birth. The depth and extent of intellectual advancement can be easily understood by the fact that it talks about tolerance, peace and harmony. In India Buddhism & Jainism was tolerated and practiced by people and they had option to choose (6 centuries before the Christ was born). Even recently Zoroastrianism is a religion only practiced in India and Hindus did help them or it would have been vanquished by Islam. Even Islam and Christianity came to India and were accepted. Unlike religions countries practicing Islam and Christianity were you cannot even think about other religion getting practiced just a couple of centuries back!!
What we have come across is surely a bridge no doubt on that and it’s true that it is mentioned in Ramayana about creation of this bridge. Worldwide Scientists do study these religious books to understand the ancient culture as they are considered records of event during that time. Hinduism is most ancient religion to be practiced currently in the world. Let the research go on and time shall speak for itself as what is right and what is wrong about the bridge. Everything written in scriptures may not necessarily be true and they might not necessarily be false. Religious books have said about this bridge ages back and scientist have found it today, same has been the case with the ancient city of Dwarika, whose ruins are getting excavated on the shores of Gujarat. Again the same was mentioned in another epic called Mahabharata.

Just What is the Bhagavad Gita?

Hari bol

Hare krishna prabhu

Thankyou for sending such a piece of knowledge

I have query

Is it that all the enjoyment that we get in this material world is directed towards krishna because we are a part of him so he creates and enjoys. Now wat about the sufferings that we face, is he whio suffers for us as well. It is said that he is hari he will take away all your problems. So does he suffers for us.

Looking forward for some elaboration to understand the topic a bit more.

Regards
Saurabh

“I am not this Body.” Easy to say…

Madhudvisa dasa ji, Hare Krishna!

I can intellectually grasp to some extent that this body is machine & I am the driver and in reality also I would like to have this much dispassion & discrimination so that I can experience that my body is different from me.

But in present reality & experience this concept does not appeal to be true 100%. When my body is hurt, I don’t feel that a machine which I am driving has been damaged but I & in fact everybody feels the pain of that injury. Sometimes the gravity of pain overwhelms us. Why would it be so if we are just drivers of our bodies.

Take an example. I see a beautiful girl & I want to become her friend. Is it a requirement of my body or is it my own need & desire. I would say that it is my desire because I myself feel it. We can say that we are different from our bodies only if we can differentiate where the boundary of our bodies end & domain of our real self begin but in experience I find that body is nothing but an extension of my soul & all the needs of my body are in some way or the other related to my very personal needs which I can’t say are my body’s exclusive needs.

How to differentiate between my real self & my body? Isn’t my mind also a part of my body because a person because of a bodily defect becomes mentally retarted. Then in that case what I am if not this body(which includes mind).

Please enlighten me with some insight which can make things very clear & bright.

Anyway I like Krishna very much & I like Hare Krishna mantra too. It is so soothing.

regards

Hare Krishna!!!!

    Hare krishna Prabhuji.,Dandvat Pranaam
May i know about the author of the book”Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita As It Is” named mukund das prabhu.Had he any personal association with Srila Prabhupada.

    • This book is a compilation of direct quotes from Srila Prabhupada speaking about his own life. The author is Srila Prabhuapda, all Mukunda did was compile the quotes and he did a good job of it. He wrote a bit of rubbish on the last 2 pages but apart from that he did not write a single word in the book. It is a collection of Prabhupada quotes and the author of this book is Srila Prabhuapda.

  2. Vamshi says:

Prabhu Madhudvisa Dasa.Is Jagannath Krishna himself or is just an expansion of Krishna like Vishnu,Rama etc.In Iskcon lectures I heard that Jagannath is Krishna himself, they have proved this by saying a story from Skanda purana. Is this true or Iskcon lectures are just bogus?I found no video Prabhupad talking aboyt Lord Jagannath.Oh Prabhu kindly answer my doubts.Hare Krishna

    • Yes. Lord Jagannatah is Krishna Himself. It is Jagannatha [Krishna] Balarama and Krishna’s sister Subhadra.

So Jagannatha is deity form of Krishna. He is representation of Krishna with His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra,

It is deity manifestation of Krishna, Balarama and Lady Subhadra,

    Jai Govind

I request you clear my doubts.I understand the complexities of life processes, cellular mechanisms and other natural phenomenon cannot be explained solely by reasoning and scientific theories as somewhere or other our knowledge is limited.I am a science student nd nature lover. After reading the article posted by you regarding the concept of the origin of life,a question arisen in my mind that krishna is all powerful, then, why he designed this universe in this complicated way?,why life originated? why he made all that dna etc matter space?what is his true nature? why are we given these bodies these reasoning abilities?why krishna waited for billions of years and made us take birth here?why prakrati and purush got seperated? who were those dinosaurs etc for souls are eternal were those dinosaurs primitive and other organisms we only? are there any planet lest earth having life?why will happen atlast for we are ultimately destined to reach our eternal govind? why doesn’t he appears now and clear all these doubts for one thing is sure that if even he messages in some ways we will submit to him?why krishna is so naughty why has he made everything complicated?I know these are childlish questions but still worthy to be answered…..

I am a krishana devotee.I feel as if there is pure love for him deep in my heart. But at the same time I do believe in science.Sometimes i find myself stuck in between science emotions belief and devotion.I want to understand my Govind,I want to understand myself.

I request my friends to please give answer to these questions.I hope i will get atleast answers of a few questions as i found this site quite appealing.

    thankyou!
    Radhe krishna

    • Hare Krishna Jai Govind

To clear your doubts you have to become Krishna conscious. Because unless you become Krishna conscious you will not be able to understand what Krishna consciousness is and you will remain continually bewildered.

All these questions are irrelevant. You seem to accept that Govinda exists, that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Now you have to just surrender to the idea that you are His servant. And then you need to find out practically how you can engage in the service of Krishna. And to find out how to do this you need to read Srila Prabhupada’s books. And in the process of becoming Krishna conscious all your other questions will automatically be answered.

The scientists can not understand anything. They only have very fragmental information about everything they study. The information we can gather through our material senses is very limited. There are so many things we can not perceive through our material senses. So they can not understand what they can not perceive.

So instead of just speculating all these questions and being bewildered like this it is better to just admit that in our conditioned state with our very limited mind and our material senses we can not hope to understand Krishna or even this material world which is created ultimately by Krishna.

The way to understand these things is to become Krishna conscious. We can not understand without becoming Krishna conscious.

So you have to learn how to become Krishna conscious… That is the answer to all your questions. And Krishna consciousness is a science and that science is very elaborately presented in the books of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

      Madhudvisa dasa
