Don’t Depend on the Internet for Your Access to Srila Prabhupada!!
Today many devotees depend on the internet for accessing Srila Prabhupada’s books and audio and video recordings. This is very dangerous.
Gradually, day by day, the internet is becoming more and more controlled and the information we see is what the big tech companies want us to see, no longer what we want to see. And big tech companies don’t want us hearing from Srila Prabhupada about Krishna.
There was a time when search engines would show us the websites we were looking for, but now they often hide the websites they know we want to see and show us the sites they want us to see… There was a time when the big video sharing platforms would show us the videos we wanted to see, but now, instead, they try to get us to watch the videos they want us to watch…
The way the interente works is subtly and gradually changing, it is transforming from a searcable repository of the world’s information to a very controlled system feeding us the content it’s controllers want us to see.
So the bottom line is it is getting more and more difficult to access Srila Prabhupada and Krishna conscious material on the internet. And it is only a question of time, as the controllers of the internet tighten things up more and more, our access to Prabhuapda on the internet will be cut off.
Even if we manage to somehow find a Prabhupada video on YouTube, for example, there will be so many inturruptions and advertisments, then the next video that they try to get us to watch will not be a Prabhupada video, they will try and distract us, move us into some completely different thing, even if it is still spiritual it will be some mayavadi or bogus philosophy… So…
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT WE ALL HAVE PHYSICAL COPIES OF SRILA PRABHUPADA’S BOOKS AND PHYSICAL COPIES OF HIS AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDINGS!
The internet as we know it today is a very temporary thing. At any moment, the internet can transform into something different and we can wake up tomorrow in a completely new reality where it is no longer possible to access anything on the internet except the programming the controllers want us to consume…
Any day we could wake up and find that there is no longer anything from Srila Prabhupada available on the internet. Krishna consciousness could be considered inappropriate material and no longer appear in the search engines, all the Prabhupada videos could disappear, all the Krishna conscious websites could disappear, all the Krishna conscious apps could be uninstalled from your devices overnight.

Thank you for writing this. Over the decades I have watched as the promises and benefits of the internet have been corrupted by companies and governments. As you said, we cannot rely on being able to access the word of Srila Prabhupada online forever.
Another thing to beware of is people using the recent developments in artificial intelligence to clone Prabhupada’s voice and even likeness to create fake or altered audio or video for nefarious ends. For example: don’t agree with female guru’s? Well ‘someone’ just found a missing audio tape of Prabhupada giving his full blessing.
They have edited his books against his explicit instruction. Editing his spoken word may be next.

But we have preserved everything already. So there is nothing more to discover.
So it is OK, we have Prabhupada’s original books, all his original audio recordings, all his video recordings. They are already preserved.
