Everything is in Srila Prabhupada’s Books!

I am requesting all of my students to read my books very seriously every day without fail. In this way, if your mind becomes absorbed at least one or two hours daily… (Srila Prabhupada letter to Bhargava, June 1972.)

I can understand from the questions people ask on www.Krishna.org that most are not reading Srila Prabhupada’s books regularly. If we are not reading Prabhupada’s books every day we are missing out on so much. The only way we can make advancement in spiritual life and ultimately get out of this miserable material world and go back home back to Godhead is by the association of a pure devotee of Krishna. Only one who is already liberated and situated on the topmost spiritual platform is qualified to guide us in such a way that we can also ultimately achieve the same perfection and go back home, back to Godhead.

And such a great soul is very rare. We may not get the opportunity to associate with such a great soul in millions and millions of births… But now we are so fortunate that we have Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada has so mercifully put everything into his books. He is living in his books and when we read Prabhupada’s books we are getting his direct personal association. If we have any difficulty or any question we need answered all we need to do is pick up one of Srila Prabhupada’s books and read it. The perfect answer will always be there, as long as we keep reading to find it.

In this email I want to include some of the things Srila Prabhupada himself says about the importance of reading his books:

You may please me the most by reading my books and following the instructions therein and by becoming fully Krishna Conscious in this lifetime.”

“I am very much stressing at this point that all of my students shall be very much conversant with the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness, and that they should read our books very diligently at least one or two hours daily and try to understand the subject matter from varieties of angles.”

“Be sure and read my books very carefully, Bhagavad-gita, then Srimad-Bhagavatam, and then Caitanya Caritamrta. You should read every day without fail and become fixed in our philosophy.

“I am pleased to hear that you are chanting 16 rounds daily and reading my books regularly and following the four rules. In my books the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness is explained fully so if there is anything which you do not understand, then you simply have to read again and again. By reading daily the knowledge will be revealed to you and by this process your spiritual life will develop. Krishna Consciousness is not a hackneyed thing but it is something which is our natural and original consciousness. Presently our consciousness is clouded just like a mirror becomes covered with dust So the cleansing process is this chanting and hearing and doing some service and trying to please the Spiritual Master. By this process our consciousness becomes clear and we are able to understand everything.”

“Who is my father, how he is, how great he is, what is his qualification, what does he do, what is his father’s name, what is his address—that you can understand from Bhagavad-gītā. Therefore it is essential that everyone should read Bhagavad-gītā. Simply to know God is great, that is also good. He is accepting the greatness of God. But if you want to know in detail how great He is, to what extent great He is, how the actions of His greatness are going on, how His activities of greatness are going on, then you read Bhagavad-gītā.”

“For further understanding of this religious process, I would recommend that you read our three books, namely Sri Isopanisad, Bhagavad-gita As It Is, and Easy Journey to Other Planets. When you have finished them, you can read Srimad-Bhagavatam and Teachings of Lord Caitanya. Besides these we have many other books and our Back to Godhead magazines, in which we fully describe this religion only. So please read them one after another, and whenever there is a question you may write to me, and I shall be very glad to answer you as far as possible.”

“Regarding my books, everyone should read. I am also reading. Everyone should be engaged 24 hours. That is the sum and substance. How much you should read and how much you should do other types of service, that has to be decided by each individual devotee. Eating and sleeping should be minimized—not a single moment should be misused.”

“Thank you for reading my books and appreciating them. Please continue to do so. That will help you advance nicely in spiritual life. By reading my books and chanting Hare Krishna, your life will become perfect.”

“As a Sannyasi and GBC your first duty is to read my books. Otherwise how will you preach? In order to remain steadily fixed in Krishna consciousness there must be a sound philosophical understanding. Otherwise it will become only sentiment. Whenever you find time please read my books.”

“I have written many books already which are full of the different aspects of this deep philosophy of Krishna Consciousness. I request you to study them carefully and you will find a treasure house of scientific information in relation to the ultimate goal of life and conquering the major problems of life, birth, death, old age, and disease.”

“I am pleased to know that all of you are enthusiastically engaged in distributing our books. In this modern Godless civilization, everyone is greatly suffering due to lack of the real knowledge of Krishna consciousness, and our task is very great and very important. We must deliver this pure science of God to everyone and give them the chance to make their lives successful. So you continue this book distribution program very nicely, and at the same time take advantage of these books yourselves. Not that you just distribute but neglect reading them yourself. Always read them, especially Krsna book. Every time you have a spare moment, you should read. This will help you to advance in Krishna consciousness, and will give you the ability to convince others also.”

Srimad-Bhagavatam means everything in relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Whether we hear the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Lord or we hear about the character, reputation and activities of His devotees, they are all one and the same. Neophyte devotees simply try to understand the pastimes of the Lord and are not very interested in hearing about the activities of His devotees, but such discrimination should not be indulged in by any real devotee. Sometimes less intelligent men try to hear about the rasa dance of Krsna and do not take care to hear about other portions of Srimad-Bhagavatam, which they completely avoid. There are professional Bhagavata reciters who abruptly go to the rasa-lila chapters of Srimad-Bhagavatam, as if other portions of Srimad-Bhagavatam were useless. This kind of discrimination and abrupt adoption of the rasa-lila pastimes of the Lord is not approved by the acaryas. A sincere devotee should read every chapter and every word of Srimad-Bhagavatam, for the beginning verses describe that it is the ripened fruit of all Vedic literature. Devotees should not try to avoid even a word of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.”

“You should be always alert in understanding the sastric conclusions that will help you, otherwise we can be misled by bogus philosophies. I am very pleased that you are studying the books. This will make you happy and successful.”

“Please perform your service of training up the new men very carefully. Present the philosophy of Krsna consciousness as it is. There is no need to add anything or take anything away. As it is. They must learn to strictly follow the four regulative principles and chant 16 rounds minimum every day, avoiding the 10 offenses. The new men should also go out for samkirtan, chanting or distributing my books. This will make them strong. Also, they must study my books at least three hours a day (including classes).”

“If you want to stay in Krsna Consciousness you will have to develop firm faith in Guru and Sastra. Therefore, you must study my books very scrutinizingly, follow the four regulative principles very strictly and chant 16 rounds daily avoiding the ten offenses. Don’t take this movement as something cheap.”

Please carefully read these quotes from Srila Prabhupada and apply them in your life. About the Author

My first contact with a Hare Krishna was a most merciful Mataji in Oxford Street, London who sold me a "Higher Taste" cook book in 1984 while I was on holidays there. I started seriously reading Srila Prabhupada's books in Australia 1985 and by 1986 Srila Prabhupada had convinced me "Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead" and "we should surrender to Krishna." I joined the Hare Krishnas in Perth, Western Australia in 1986. Since then I have been chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, reading and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and preaching as much as I can. That's my life and full-time occupation now really. I like it more than anything I've ever experienced before. Srila Prabhupada's books are so amazing... Even after reading them all many times they're still fresh and new. They are truly transcendental! That's it really. Now I'm just hankering to once again see the world chant Hare Krishna, dance and feast and float away in the ecstasy of Lord Caitanya's Sankirtana movement as it did in Srila Prabhupada's physical presence. Let the whole world drown in the ecstatic flood of love of Krishna!

I tried to read word meanings in Shrimad-Bhagavatam but it was taking a lot of time and I felt I was not reading Srila Prabhupada’s books enough so now I’m only reading verses in Sanskrit and Translation and purport. I want to ask you if it is okay to read word-meanings only at some other time? I’m not very intelligent Prabhu so I ask common sense questions also. Please tell if I can do it. Sorry to ask you so many questions.

    • I don’t read the word meanings. If you want to learn Sanskrit it is good to read them, but I just chant the verses and read the purports, sometimes I chant the verses three times and read the purports. So it is up to you…

    All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Is it an offense to use Srila Prabhupada’s books to teach someone English so that they can read these books later on? I want to teach a small child in my family English from Srila Prabhupada’s books. And I also want to practice typing using Srila Prabhupada’s books as I don’t like to read other materialistic books. Please tell Prabhu is it an offense.

    • Of course it is OK to use Prabhuapda’s books to teach English. Of course it is OK to learn typing by typing from Prabhupada’s books…. Of course it is not an offense. How could it be an offense????

  3. Aman says:

    Hare Krishna Prabhu!

Is it possible to learn Sanskrit by reading Srila Prabhupada’s Shrimad Bhagavatam?

I read in Srila Prabhupada’s letters that devotees should learn Sanskrit and English.
So I think I should also learn and I want to know the best way to learn Sanskrit. I would prefer to learn it from Srila Prabhupada’s books only. I have heard Srila Prabhupada said that one can become scholar in Sanskrit at the end of the year if one reads one chapter of Shrimad Bhagavatam everyday but I’m not sure if he actually said this or not. Please tell me the best way to learn Sanskrit Prabhu.

    Hare Krishna!

    • Hare Krishna Aman

Yes. Certainly. You can learn Sanskrit by reading Srila Prabhuapda’s books. You already half know Sanskrit because you know Hindi, it is the same script, Hindi is also using the Devanagari script. So you can already read it. And Hindi language is derived from Sanskrit, so although it is now quite different, still many words are similar in Hindi and Sanskrit. So I think you will have no problems learning Sanskrit from Srila Prabhupada’s books.

Of course there are levels of learning Sanskrit. If one wanted to learn all the Sanskrit grammar to the extent that he could speak in Sanskrit and compose Sanskrit verses that would take a very long time and that is not necessary for us. For us we only need to be able to read the Devanagari script and understand the meanings of the words. So as you read Srila Prabhupada’s books, like Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, etc, the meanings of the words are there. So if you read the verse in Sanskrit and read the word meaning aloud and think about them and read the verse and purport also aloud then you will start to remember the meaning of the words and as you read the verses you can try and remember what the Sanskrit words mean and gradually you will get to know almost all the Sanskrit words. Then, if you do this, you will be way better than any Kali-Yuga Sanskrit scholar by far.

So there is no need to learn Sanskrit grammar. We are not going to be composing Sanskrit, we want to understand it as we read it. So to understand it all you have to do is remember the word meanings, and gradually, automatically, if you try to remember the meanings of the words and try to understand it as you read it, you will quickly start recognizing the words and the meaning will come.

So this is the way to learn Sanskrit for devotees, by reading Srila Prabhupada’s books and reading the word meanings section and trying to remember the meanings of the words.

If you just hear the meanings of the words gradually you will remember them. Hearing is very powerful. So if you want to learn it and you read the verses and the meanings then certainly if you read a chapter of Srimad-Bhagavatam every day with the whole thing aloud: Sanskrit verse, word meanings, translation and purport, then by the end of the year you will have quite a good idea about the Sanskrit and will know the meanings of many Sanskrit words and will be able to understand the ‘gist’ of many verses. It may take a bit longer before you can understand the meanings of every verse when you read it. But the more you read the more familiar you will become with it.

So we should not go outside Srila Prabhupada’s books. We have everything we need except Krishna consciousness. So whatever we know at the moment that is OK, we just have to add Krishna consciousness to it and that will be perfect. We do not need to read anything except Srila Prabhupada’s books.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

      • Aman says:

        Hare Krishna Prabhu!

Thank you very much for the guidance. I will certainly not read other books for learning Sanskrit now. And yes Prabhu, I can already understand and remember half of the verses that I have heard repeatedly because words are similar to Hindi. Now I only need to chant and hear repeatedly the Sanskrit verses along with word-meanings.

      • Aman says:

        Hare Krishna Prabhu!

I have one more question on this. If one reads the word-meaning also after the verse in Sanskrit, then also one has to read only 1-2 hours? Is the time taken to read the word-meanings also included in the 1-2 hours that we have been instructed to devote to reading Srila Prabhupada’s books?

        • Hare Krishna Aman

You can work out these things for yourself. It is common sense. Actually these things like chanting 16 rounds and reading 1-2 hours, they are only minimums. We are supposed to chant constantly, 24 hours a day, kirtaniya sada hare. And we are supposed to read the Bhagavatam constantly, 24 hours a day, nityam bhagavata sevaya. So not that you limit your reading to 1-2 hours a day and your chanting to 16 rounds. These are absolute minimums but when you have time you can read more and chant more.

So point is you want to learn Sanskrit, so to learn Sanskrit you need to read the word meanings, and you have a young mind, it can learn quickly, but if you want to learn it you have to hear it, and hear it consciously, not just read mechanically. So read the translations and the sanskrit words and try to remember the meaning then read the Sanskrit verse and try to remember the meaning of the words as you read them. It will seem slow and cloudy and maybe tedious in the beginning. But if you persevere with it soon everything will fall into place and it won’t take very long until you start to know the meaning of many many of the words and you start getting some idea of what the verse means as you read it.

So this is good, it is good for Krishna consciousness to be able to understand the Sanskrit words as you read them.

But we have to be careful not to become puffed up. Many devotees, as soon as they know a little Sanskrit, immediately think they are great and start arguing with Srila Prabhupada’s translations, etc. So we have to remain humble. But it is a good idea to learn it, particularly for you as you already know the Devanagari script and for preaching in India particularly it is very good if you understand Sanskrit. So it is good, it is Krishna consciousness, it is service, to spend some time learning the word meanings.

But yes read more if you can.

Personally I do not read the word meaning. My old tired brain is hopeless for learning a new language, but you are young and youth is the time when you can easily learn things like new languages very quickly. So if you want to do it, do it. And if you do it every day, like you suggested, reading at least 1 chapter of the Bhagavatam daily, very soon the Sanskrit will start becoming demystified for you.

So I wish you all success with this and give you any blessings in my power to you to learn Sanskrit in this way. So if you truly want to learn it then do it. To learn anything, to achieve anything within this world, material or spiritual, requires tapasya, austerity. There is an English saying ‘no pain, no gain’, and it is true. We have to work to succeed in anything. And sometimes that work may be difficult. So to succeed in Krishna consciousness we have to be determined to work at it. So if you want to learn it set your mind to it, become determined, and do it every day without fail, and you will learn it.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

  4. Ashok Kumar Sahoo says:

    Your Grace,
    My hearty pranam,

I have been in constant touch of Srila Prabhupada’s Books. I have conclussively felt that if ever any advancement one can attain in Krisna Consciousness at this point of time is only by means of reading these Books. As i received the mail with title “Ashok, a regulated life is very important” I was very glad to learn that i coincide by knowledge with the contents there in. I express my hearty thanks for propagating the same.

Here in Cuttack, Odisha, to my surprise few/one learned devotee i have heard each time saying from the vyasasana repeatedly speak that there would be no benefit one will get by reading any book rather one has to hear from a devotee personally who can transmit bhakti into another as bhakti is like a contagious disease that will transmigrate. I accept the later part of his idea but certainly I know for sure that at this stage of time the only boat one can easily get is the Books by Srila Prabhupada.

    Thanking You.

    • Hare Krishna Ashok

You are very correct in realizing the power and potency of Srila Prabhupada’s books. Srila Prabhupada is living in his books. And you are personally associating with Srila Prabhupada as you read his books.

Many preachers in ISKCON are envious of Srila Prabhupada. They want the fame, the glory, they want the devotees to come to them only for understanding Krishna consciousness. So that is why ISKCON minimizes the importance of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books and puts all stress and importance on hearing whoever happens to be giving class.

But this is wrong. We have to be very careful whom we hear Srimad-Bhagavatam from. Bhagavatam can only be understood by and explained by pure devotees of Krishna. So before hearing Srimad-Bhagavatam from anyone we have to first ascertain if they are pure devotees of Krishna or not. If they are not pure devotees of Krishna then the instruction from Srila Rupa Gosvami and others is we should not hear.

So we have to be very careful about this. We need to hear from Srila Prabhupada as we know he is a pure devotee of Krishna.

These days so many demons are preaching form the Vyasasanas in ISKCON temples and we have to avoid hearing from them otherwise our natural advancement in Krishna consciousness will be checked.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

Hare Krishna Prabhuji. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Please accept my humble obeisances thousands and thousands of times. You are doing so many great services in preserving the iskcon movement. But my only doubt is when the Lord says that we must approach a bonafide spiritual master and inquire from him submissively. Is it possible to make inquires to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada since most iskcon gurus are not bonafide? I know that by reading Srila Prabhupads books that we are approaching him but how exactly would we put forward specific inquiries?

    • Hare Krishna Orlando

Yes. Of course it is possible to ask Srila Prabhupada a question and get the answer from reading his books. I do it all the time and Prabhupada always answers my questions.

This was Srila Prabhupada’s advice to his disciples in his physical presence. “All the answers are in my books. Read them.” Even then you would not have been able to personally ask Srila Prabhupada your questions. That is why he wrote his books. To answer your questions. So read all of Prabhupada’s books and all your questions will be answered. If you just surrender to this and surrender to chanting at least 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra every day and surrender to following the four regulative principles [no illicit sex, no meat eating, no gambling and no intoxication] then Srila Prabhupada will answer all your questions. He will reveal everything to you. It is all about surrender. We have to surrender. And we have to serve. Without service and surrender there is no Krishna consciousness.

Mostly ‘devotees’ don’t surrender so they don’t get the answers. We have to surrender and serve and then we will get Srila Prabhupada’s mercy.

You can also ask your questions here at Krishna.org and you will get the right answer also.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

        Hare Krishna Prabhu Ji ,
As you told that Srila Prabhupada have written more than 80 books.
I want ask that ,At Krishnastore.com or at Krishna.org or Prabhupadabooks.com exists nearly 28 to 35 books only.
So from where I can get other almost 40 books ?

        Please reply me 🙂

And one more Question that ,reading books online at Prabhupadabooks.com or reading directly from books, purchased from Krishnastore.com
        Have same effect ??

And One more ,When im studying college books ,its not possible to think about Krishna because at that time ,its important to have all concentration on books.
So its natural ? Or what is mean of thinking about Krishna Every moment ? Imean ,we should think about Krishna or chanting mahamantra Every moment ?
Please excuse me for any mistake or misunderstood and English is also not so good I think.
        But please reply me soon
        And
Yeah ,I know that We should act as what we are ,imean ,I’m kshatriya(according to as I belongs to my family ) and my duty is fighting and many more. But nowadays ,this system got end and now I’m student and my work is to study ? RighT ? Or stil I should work as Kshatriya(I’m reading Prabhupada books so hope ,I will get it answer. From books soon but I want to know about it now so ) please tell me
        Hare Krishna

        • Hare Krishna Ravi

The 80 books includes 30 volumes of Srimad-Bhagavatam and 17 volumes of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta. So that is 47 already and if you add the other books it will come close to 80. I think you are only counting SB and CC as 2 books but that is 47 books.

Yes, reading online at PrabhupadaBooks.com is as good as reading the physical books. But personally I like reading the physical books better. The best effect you will get is if you read the books aloud so you can hear them also. And also read the Sanskrit slokas aloud. These Sanskrit slokas are mantras with spiritual potency and everything Prabhupada has written is spiritual and we actually become Krishna conscious by hearing. We do not become Krishna conscious so much by thinking in the mind, although remembering is one of the nine processes of bhakti. Still hearing is more important.

And yes of course while studying college books you have to think about the subject matter of the books. That is normal. The point should be that you want to use your life to serve Krishna so the education you are getting that should be connected with serving Krishna. You are studying at college so you can get a job so you can earn money so you can raise a family and if you bring up your children as nice devotees of Krishna then that will be a great service to Srila Prabhupada and Krishna. But you will not be able to maintain your family if you do not have some income. So it is all a bit distant. But the point is the goal of our activities has to be to serve Srila Prabhupada and Krishna. And if that is the case then even though we have to concentrate on the work at hand the ultimate purpose of that work is to serve Krishna…

As far as your family being a Ksatriya family that is not so important. The whole Varnasrama system now is totally messed up and it is not actually required for Krishna consciousness. It is a social system. If the society is to run smoothly then the Varnasrama system needs to be established. But Krishna consciousness is transcendental to all these things. Even if the society is totally messed up as it is now, still we can practice Krishna consciousness. It does not require the Varnasram system.

In any case one’s varna is determined not by birth but by his qualities and his work. So these things are described in the 18th Chapter of Bhagavad-gita. You can get more details there.

So main thing is to chant at least 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra every day and follow the four regulative principles and read Srila Prabhupada’s books every day. Then as you are doing everything will become clear more and more.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

I want to be honest with you and don’t want to make a silly excuse. I am busy with my studies. I truly from my heart want to read them cus they tell a lot about lord Krishna ji. I will read them in any condition for an hour daily and will tell you what i read. I read about diksha and shiksha guru today and i understood that u are my shikha guru and prabhupada is diksha and shiksha guru both. I read about it just for 15 minutes, but from today onwards i will read an hour more and will start from today, from now.
    Thank you
    Hare Krishna Prabhu ji

    • Very good news. Yes. It is important to read Prabhupada’s books every day, even if only for one hour, you should try for that at least but even if you can’t manage that some days you should read something every day at least from Srila Prabhupada’s books…

The sex desire can only be controlled by becoming Krishna conscious.

There is no other way to control it.

And to how to become Krishna conscious, that is a very large subject matter which Srila Prabhupada has very perfectly explained in more than 80 books. So if you want to control your sex life you have to become Krishna conscious and if you want to understand how to become Krishna conscious you have to read Srila Prabhupada’s books.

You can purchase them at http://www.krishnastore.com, you can read them online at http://www.prabhupadabooks.com and you can download the free pdf files from:

    https://krishna.org/category/free-pdf-downloads/

It requires a serious commitment to become Krishna conscious and that starts with chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra at least 16 rounds a day on japa beads, strictly following the four regulative principles [no illicit sex, no meat eating, no gambling and no intoxication] and reading Srila Prabhupada’s books at least 1-2 hours a day.

So if we want to actually control our sex desires then we have to strictly follow these things and all the other things Srila Prabhupada instructs us to do as we read his books.

So it is not a ‘simple fix’, that I can write a one paragraph reply to your comment that will solve your problem. However I have given you the solution here, it is up to you now to either accept it and be happy or reject it and suffer.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

One round means chanting the entire Hare Krishna mantra 108 times. So that is chanting: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare 108 times.

Sixteen rounds is doing this sixteen times. So sixteen rounds is chanting the entire Hare Krishna mantra 108 x 16 = 1728 times. Sometimes devotees speak of chanting a certain number of names of Krishna, so there are 16 words, or names in the Hare Krishna mantra so it is 1728 x 16 = 27,648 names. Some devotees, at least in the Caitanya-caritamrta, were chanting 100,000 names or even 300,000 names (Haridas Thakura). So really 27,648 names is not very much.

In the beginning it will take a bit longer but once you are practiced it takes between 2-3 hours typically. And 2-3 hours out of 24 hours is very little really.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

I thank you for your guidance from 2011. I want to ask that from where should I download original books, krishna.org or krishnapath.org? I want to download scans but they are not using same data. Your Bhagavad Gita is 169 MB but at http://www.krishnapath.org is 134 MB.
    Please clear my doubt.

    Hare Krishna,
The more I read the books on spirituality, the more I realise that I am the worst person. How crazy and selfish I am.Since my childhood I was a non-vegetarian. I stopped taking it. Now again my mind aspires for only fish and taking. I want to get rid of it but how? Please help me.

    • Prasadam. Krishna Prasadam. You have to cook bhoga yourself and offer it to Srila Prabhupada and Krishna. If you can get Prabhupada and Krishna to accept your offerings and only eat prasadam you will be completely satisfied with this and you will have no more hankering for fish, etc…

Thank you for highlighting this important point, of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books daily.
Thank you for collating some of his quotes on the matter and ofcourse for adding such useful websites.
By Krsna’s and Srila Prabhupada’s grace, I am blessed to read these books and apply them.
As regards, Maya, I find she provides us our “practicals”.
Ie we each have experiences which we can apply our KC principles to.

I pray Lord Krsna and our dear Guru Srila Prabhupada blessses each one of us to remain disciplined and determined in our efforts to read, apply and share the profound knowledge contained in these auspicious books.

Never give up! Pick yourselves up and carry on the KC process come what may.
    Haribol!

BG 2.22 PURPORT Prabhupad explain that PARAMATMA & ATMA BOTH RESIDES IN THE REGION OF HEART like two birds on the tree. we understood everything he explained about ATMA But the question is what happen to PARAMATMA at the time death? where paramatma goes after the death(after leaving body)?
kindly oblige us by your nectarian words.

    • Paramatma, Visnu, is present simultaneously in everyone’s hearts. It is not that everyone has a different paramatma in his heart. So at the time of death the paramatma does not go anywhere. He is present even within the atom…

Thanku for for this informative email with highlights. Actually, our philosophy is very rich, but we feel lazy to read SP’s books. Sometimes, we are more inclined towards kirtan or deities or prasadam, but we must understand that BOOKS ARE THE BASIS. Without being well versed with our philosophy, our Krsna consciousness is hazy and maya may knock us down finding the right opportunity.

    Pranam Swamiji,

As you have mentioned, I feel his personal association while reading Our Guru Srila Prabhupada; yes he is living in his books. I feel, I am very much blessed to read his books;(thanks once agin to you Swamiji) his simple writing quality to attract readers, giving appropriate explanations from vedas etc about Krishna Conciousness. Only problem is, I started reading his book the “Nector of Devotion” I am deeply absorbed/interest, it makes me to read the same book again and again with same curiacity when I started reading for the 1st time. It is very diffcult to resist me;.

I have never find this type of experience in my life time;. When he explains about Lord Krishna’s physical features, the reader will get Krishna’s darshan, in his mind; when he explains, about krishna’s any bal leela, I personally feel, Krishna is doing in front of my eyes of course not visually but mentally. Through his books, he brings Krishna’s darshan to those who reads them.

All the glory goes to our Great Guru Sri Prabhupada.

    Hare Krishna
