Space Travel

I was just this morning asking Purusottama to inform you of increasing the publication of Issue #26 because the article, Beyond the Universe,” is very interesting.

In the present atmosphere of space exploration this kind of article will be much appreciated, and people will know that we are not sentimentalists. Our background is solid, scientific and authorized.

Actually, the modern astronauts are trying to reach the moon planet, and even if they reach there they cannot live there; and even if they live there, that is also not permanent. But our ambition is far, far greater, nobler and more sublime than these astronauts because we are trying to reach the Supreme Planet, Krishna Loka, and live there eternally in association with Krishna. Krishna has also advised in Bhagavad-gita that even if we go to the topmost planet, Brahma Loka, still we have to come back again. But if we go to Krishna Loka, there is no coming back to this material world.

A living being, especially civilized man, has a natural desire to live forever in happiness. This is quite natural because, in his original state, the living being is both eternal and joyful. However, in the present conditioned state of life, he is engaged in a struggle against recurring birth and death. Therefore he has attained neither happiness nor immortality.

The latest desire man has developed is the desire to travel to other planets. This is also quite natural, because he has the constitutional right to go to any part of the material or spiritual skies. Such travel is very tempting and exciting because these skies are full of unlimited globes of varying qualities, and they are occupied by all types of living entities. The desire to travel there can be fulfilled by the process of yoga, which serves as a means by which one can transfer himself to whatever planet he likes—possibly to planets where life is not only eternal and blissful, but where there are multiple varieties of enjoyable energies. Anyone who can attain the freedom of the spiritual planets need never return to this miserable land of birth, old age, disease and death. One can attain this stage of perfection very easily by his individual effort. He can simply follow, in his own home, the prescribed method of bhakti-yoga.

This method, under proper guidance, is simple and enjoyable.

I worship that transcendental seat, known as Svetadwipa, where as loving consorts, the Laksmis, in their unalloyed spiritual essence practice the amorous service of the Supreme Lord Krsna as their only lover; where every tree is a transcendental purpose tree; where the soil is the purpose gem, all water is nectar, every word is a song, every gait is a dance, the flute is the favorite attendant, effulgence is full of transcendental bliss and the supreme spiritual entities are all enjoyable and tasty, where numberless milk cows always emit transcendental oceans of milk; where there is eternal existence of transcendental time, who is ever present and without past or future and hence is not subject to the quality of passing away even for the space of half a moment. That realm is known as Goloka only to a very few self-realized souls in this world. (Lord Brahma: Brahma-samhita text 56)

I will send it to your personal email. This may shed some light on what some devotees have perverted ideas on islam. One should not interpret any scriptures without consulting the acharya. This is maryada.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this article.Interesting article indeed. Is this about visualizing the ‘other worlds’ based on perceptions or imaginations, spritual discourse of the mind or there is indeed a physical reality to these ‘other worlds’ (by this I mean, not the planets and the physical universe, but the ‘lokas’). When in physicality (flesh and bones)one can not travel over and beyond, as to overcome the laws of physics and gravity, where escaping from gravity and surviving in the unknown is not ‘physically’ possible, I am wondering whether ‘realizing’ our dreams of physical presence in ‘loka’ is indeed the manifestation of our imagination (based on illusions of space, universe, and ‘dharm shastra’). How come ‘Dattatarya’ in flesh, bone and blood would have survived the calamities of open space (without gravity, oxygen, sunlight)etc. I would have thought the a few others (like ‘arjuna’ of pandu/Mahabharata fame) would also have ‘been there, done that’,defying all laws of physics one cane imagine. Even luring an ‘apsara’ as a maid, only to be cursed. Living in ‘loka’ would only be possible, after the physical death of the person, rather being there in realization is about ‘yog’. Practitioners of yoga and mediation, would otherwise say, that all realization of supreme godhead and the ‘loka’ can also be realized in/by a trained ‘yog shadhna’ (spiritual mediation)within or inside ones own self. I would certainly like to experience and ‘live ever after’ in the loka’s of the supreme Krshna, however would this be possible with this human body, which is subject to ‘death’ and ‘destruction’ [‘naashwaan sharir’]. I wonder ‘the eye’ that the poet talks about in seeing God (“kaga tann khaiyio, chun-chun khaiyo maass, doh naina math khaiyo, piya milan ki aash”)is a retrospect of physical seeing or visualization of the spiritual ‘third eye’.
Many thanks for allowing your readers to drop a few thoughts and comments. Great indeed. Have a great day.
    Thanks, MS.
