The NEW PrabhupadaBooks.com for Srila Prabhupada’s Appearance Day!
We have been working on a new version of PrabhupadaBooks.com and we are announcing it today, on Srila Prabhupada’s appearance day.
There are many improvements including:
- All Prabhupada books are now verified original first editions. The previous version had pre-1977 books, but not necessary original editions.
- Newly discovered Prabhupada audio and letters are included.
- Working audio links on every page with audio transcripts (classes, lectures, conversations, morning walks, etc)
- Includes Back to Godhead magazines 1944-1977 with full PDFs of every issue.
- Bookmarking feature so you can save unlimited bookmarks and go back to them whenever you want
- Extensive highlighting system that you can highlight text in different colors and then find all the highlights you have made by color.
- Much improved mobile site that now has a left drawer [table of contents] you can drag in anytime and right drawer [search]
- So many other improvements and surely many new bugs as well…

Madhudvisa dasa My first contact with a Hare Krishna was a most merciful Mataji in Oxford Street, London who sold me a "Higher Taste" cook book in 1984 while I was on holidays there. I started seriously reading Srila Prabhupada's books in Australia 1985 and by 1986 Srila Prabhupada had convinced me "Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead" and "we should surrender to Krishna." I joined the Hare Krishnas in Perth, Western Australia in 1986. Since then I have been chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, reading and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and preaching as much as I can. That's my life and full-time occupation now really. I like it more than anything I've ever experienced before. Srila Prabhupada's books are so amazing... Even after reading them all many times they're still fresh and new. They are truly transcendental! That's it really. Now I'm just hankering to once again see the world chant Hare Krishna, dance and feast and float away in the ecstasy of Lord Caitanya's Sankirtana movement as it did in Srila Prabhupada's physical presence. Let the whole world drown in the ecstatic flood of love of Krishna!

I am using a mobile phone android, and I used Chrome and the installed app for reference.
Bug 1
Where: On the main page PrabhupadaBooks.com, scroll till bottom, below the last category/ section
What:: There is a blank category with a button on the right.
Clicking on it leads you to a page without any categories but shows a hyperlink named ‘THE MAHAMANTRA’ on bottom left clicking which reloads the same page which shows Srila Prabhupada’s photo on main page and breif description but no categories.
Bug 2
This bug occurs when you have already opened PB.com before and then if you search PB.com it won’t take you back to the main page, rather it automatically loads the previous section you viewed. Searching PrabhupadaBooks.com only opens the main page if there are no other tabs open of different sections of PB.com
-Open a tab with PrabhupadaBooks.com and visit any section like Books, Bhagavad-gita etc
-Then you can open another tab or search on the same tab PrabhupadaBooks.com
-It will open the tab of your previous section and not the main page even though you typed PB.com
Bug 3
I don’t know if this is a bug, but previously we were able to go to the main page after clicking “PrabhupadaBooks” on the topmost center. It does not work anymore.

Clicking on Bhagavad-gita As It Is > Glossary > blank/ no text only ‘Glossary’ written appears.

Minor bug
Go to Books > Srimad Bhagavatam > Canto 1 > Introduction : scroll till the very end, then at bottom the prev/ next topics are a bit misaligned. “SB 1.1: Questions by the Sages” hyperlink which should be on right occupies the centre

Previously the poster “If You Love Me, Distribute My Books” was visiible on any page you would visit, including main page, now it is no longer visible anywhere.
I have only checked a little here and there. I will try to see more tomorrow Prabhu
Suggestions:
Marketting/ advertising campaign for PrabhupadaBooks.com would be amazing Prabhu, I feel it can be done on youtube
The goal is to make PrabhupadaBooks.com as widely accessible as possible to everyone, I think Prabhu starting an app on PlayStore / Appstore can be a good idea, but there are already many such apps on the store from isckon but this website is truly unique, and I feel it can become quite popular compared to others.
Prabhu the hinking is how to interest people, especially newer people and youth into reading Prabhupadabooks.com
Online distribution seems difficult unlike physical books distribution where we simply approach the people and its a very ecstatic activity also.
So maybe an option to be able to print from PrabhupadaBooks.com would be nice but I do not know if its allowed legally

Hare Krishna Prabhu
I have made many improvements on PrabhupadaBooks.com, both mobile and desktop versions, over the past couple of weeks. Not all your points covered yet but getting there. Thank you for the suggestions, please try it again and give more suggestions and I will work on them.
Starting at the same place where you left of is a feature, not a bug. If you were reading something before the idea is next time you open up PrabhupadaBooks.com you will be at the same place and can continue reading.
As far as the distribute books banner at the bottom I know it is painful to remove it but I removed it because now we really don’t have much left to distribute. We still have big Krsna Book, Raja Vidya and Science of Self-Realization, few cases of other titles, but everything else is sold out and out of print. So if you want cases of books get them now at:

Yes. We need to promote PrabhupadaBooks.com. It is fairly popular already, probably the most popular Prabhupada Books site, but we need to make it more popular and if we improve it more and more that will help I think.
